Call the Whitney Portal Store, they can can help you out with current info.

The only solid info I got in two years of looking and asking was what a ranger told me on the trail and he said there was a service that charges $300 a party to shuttle between Lone Pine and Lodgepole.

Other than that it's a fat chance in hell.

Yeah, I realize that a couple of those contacts wont do too much good for the trailhead of the HST, but I thought I'd go ahead and list all I know of for the Sierra Nevada. You're right, there aint much... Maybe next summer I'll start a shuttle business? Good cash I bet.

Everybody I met on the trail had family that was picking them up or had dropped a car there they were hiking to.

Yeah, but I get asked all the time about shuttle services so I know there are still lots of people out there who need them. My wife wont be able to work (legally) for about a year until her immigration paperwork clears. Maybe she could offer rides and pick up some cash? :-)

Well, someone is getting $300 a party. Do it cash over the barrel.

Why not?

sierrapacktrip - Great job for your wife. Working without papers is a California tradition.

Thanks for all the info i called Kountry Korners Enterprises and its 345 bucks from Whitney Portal to Crescent meadow for up to 5 people. So maybe I'll put the word out if anyone wants to share the fee. other then that it's like 17 diffrent bus rides. Thanks again

Newer Info
I was wondering if there is any newer info on this subject. I desire to do the HST this summer if I can get a Whitney permit.

Thanks
