My wife and I are leaving Sunday. Time to do some urban trekking. Is riding the bobsleds to the top of the Matterhorn considered summitting a mountain? Anyway, I'll be on vacation all next week with no way that I can think of to get a TT fix. Maybe an Internet Cafe thing or the like? I'll compile some sort of trip report on my return, and share the Mark Twain Riverboat adventure with everyone.
One more thing, no fighting while I'm gone, or I will ground all of you!

I'm sure you and your wife will have a good time, but if you want any recommendations for Disneyland or Disney California Adventure, please ask. My daughter and I are regulars there. If we are both there the same day, we would love to say hello.

Phil, I just got back today. Sorry I didn't get a chance to contact you before I left.

Well, things went pretty well on this trip with some minor exceptions.
At the trailhead (airport) the ranger (TSA dude) said that I needed further interogation so I got pulled out of line to board and he gave me the once over. I thought the dude was going to pull apart my shoes and shred my clothes! I finally got back on the trail, but my wife and I were unable to set together because the plane was full and I was one of the last to board, Southwest bus style seating kind of sucks in that aspect. (O.K. enough trail references or this will start to sound more stupid than it has to.)

We spent all four days at Disney, including two partial days at California Adventure. We stayed at the Comfort Inn on South Harbor, I would not reccomend that place to anyone. The toilet leaked, and would run at various times through the night, and I think that the sound insulation was done with paper, we could hear anything and everything that happend within 100 feet of the room. The Comfort Inn website said that they had a free shuttle to Disneyland, in reality they do not. We had to use the Anaheim Resort Area Transit bus.
Disneyland was great!! I summitted the Matterhorn several times (LOL), and Soarin' over California in California Adventure was awesome. Man, they did a good job of tricking my senses. I thought for sure that we were going to crash into Half Dome!
I had a great time altogether, and I am happy to be back. We just got in at 5:00 and here I am posting on TT.
I love you guys.

Glad you had a good time. Soarin' Over California is a real winner of a ride.

Just got back from Disneyland about 20 minutes ago. Was wondering if someone would recognize me from TT and say hello!

hyway - How many days will you be at the resort? Happy to give some advice and recommendations about the theme parks.

hyway - Let me modify that...you are going to DisneyWorld, not Disneyland. Regardless, our family really liked MGM Grand Studios when we were there last.

We will be there for 5 days and are staying at the Fort wilderness cabins. We went to MGM when my eldest daughter was 2 yo but that was in 1995 and I thought it pretty lame except for the Tower ride where you drop 30 floors of so in an elevator.

I think a lot should have changed at MGM since 1995

Dang Phil, I should have put this thread up a few days earlier. We could have hooked up and hung out, even had a BEER in California Adventure. I could not beleive that the drink of the Gods was available in a Disney theme park.

"going to disneyland" used to be our euphemism for sex.

Hey WK, We went for new years eve this year and stayed in a city about twenty minutes west of Disney. For the life of me I cannot remember the name of the city but there are a few hotels (we stayed in a best western) that run shuttles to the park, and don't cost an outragous amount.

One piece of advice a man at Joe's work gave us that proved to be worthy of passing on: GO LEFT. Left once you get into the park. Everyone else goes right. And get those speed passes, they are awesome.
Also, some of the best and least expensive food in the park are the smoked turkey legs and baked potatoes that you can buy by the big paddle boat/hall of presidents.
Have fun!!
