You probably already know them.” 9:05:07 AM 8/20/03 “Dang Vi, you know that's going to get some of the trolls all excited.” 9:05:53 AM 8/20/03 “Precisely. Hitting the ignore button may be just for the weak, but if it means I don't have to read some sort of ridiculous or offensive crap some troll posts in a thread I'm enjoying, then I'm going to hit it.” 9:06:25 AM 8/20/03 “GRRRRRRRRRR!! ;-P hey, ynami! did you have a good trip to Germany? are you still drunk? ha!” 9:07:13 AM 8/20/03 “That picture is absolutely frightening. Wonder how well that creature would do on Riker's Island?” 9:08:08 AM 8/20/03 “The only people I've seen complain about the ignore button are the trolls and Mutt.” 9:08:44 AM 8/20/03 “Hey Bit! What did YOU do to limpy man to get on his list? ;)” 9:09:27 AM 8/20/03 “What did anybody do to get on Limpy's list?” 9:11:19 AM 8/20/03 “I wonder if Matt has ignored us all?” 9:15:10 AM 8/20/03 “Had a great time lycra, so when did you turn into the stretchy stuff then ?” 9:17:00 AM 8/20/03 “No doubt my sense of humor offends him in some way. Since I don't want to offend anybody, I welcome my inclusion on his list.” 9:20:41 AM 8/20/03 “a new person misread my name awhile ago! then SOMEONE created a screen name out of it...but he gave me the password out of the goodness of his undead heart. LOL!” 9:22:16 AM 8/20/03 “I find the trolls easier to take than the people who come here just to post trivial cr@p from their daily lives. I'm hoping this filter will eventually pair the postings down to some outdoors stuff.” 9:28:19 AM 8/20/03 “Let us know when we live up to your high standards for us Mr/Ms Slut. Okay?” 9:31:01 AM 8/20/03 “LOLOL” 9:32:04 AM 8/20/03 “undead flesh eating zombie - Good one!” 9:33:43 AM 8/20/03 “I have low low standard. Woman must like One Inch.” 9:35:35 AM 8/20/03 “Standards? On TT? How can this be?” 9:38:39 AM 8/20/03 “Maple makes the list for laughing out loud out loud. Really now, how many people have rolled on the floor laughing out loud, or laughed out loud at the inane postings typically found here?” 9:41:17 AM 8/20/03 “Did limpman say something? LOL! ;)” 9:42:43 AM 8/20/03 “Did Limpy just tell me to eat it?” 9:44:46 AM 8/20/03 “The only people I've seen complain about the ignore button are the trolls and Mutt Well, I guess I mis-spoke myself, gramps. I did point out that using the iggy feature is a sure sign one is a - how did I put it - oh yeah, ineffectual pu$$y. But the real complaint is that this feature came before a post-editing feature, which would have advanced this forum into the 1990's.” 9:46:30 AM 8/20/03 “Ahhh, but there is a post edit feature Muttonhead, right below where you post your message you will see a button labled "Preview Message."” 9:49:39 AM 8/20/03 “Gramps, that's a pathetic substitute. Also, how about a quote feature? Smilies? Spell checker? etc. All these rank above iggy.” 9:51:33 AM 8/20/03 “Emoticons are tools of ineffectual pussies.” 9:52:36 AM 8/20/03 “wrong, violin. the emotive content of a post is easily lost without emoticons.” 9:54:06 AM 8/20/03 Mutt “Not trying to stir up the pot too much here, but just want to say one thing. A couple of weeks ago, you labeled Maple and I thin skinned whiners who react to every post (at least that's what I got out of what you said). Have you read some of your own here? The iggy thing is a simple answer to a simple problem. Nothing more, nothing less. Look where you took it...” 9:56:11 AM 8/20/03 “And, BTW, not looking for a fight here, Mutt. Just a 'simple observation'...” 9:57:33 AM 8/20/03 “treebeard: so since I complained that a feature an adult has long outgrown the need for was put in place before much more useful features, I'm a thin-skinned whiner? Am I understanding you correctly?” 9:59:39 AM 8/20/03 “No, but I believed you called the users 'ineffectual pu$$ies'. A little over the top, perhaps? Again, just an 'observation'. Sorry if I offended you...” 10:02:17 AM 8/20/03 “No offense taken, but I stand by what I said. If an adult can't voluntarily ignore someone without the aid of an iggy button, then the "ineffectual pu$$y" label is a good fit. Grow up!” 10:04:10 AM 8/20/03 “Grow up? Screw you! You made an observation about me and I took it. What's the matter. You can't do the same? Double standards for the holier than thou?” 10:06:57 AM 8/20/03 “Double standard? No, your point was weak, that's all. Are you going to argue that an emotionally mature person needs a crutch to ignore someone?” 10:11:59 AM 8/20/03 “Mutt...it is much easier to ignore posts that do not appear on the thread. If the posts are there, to ignore them, one would have to scroll to the bottom of eeah post to see who wrote it, then back to the top to read, then to the bottom of the next post, etc. The ignore feature *is* a good thing. I think your response to it *is* a little over the top, although I agree with you that an edit feature would be a more valuable addition to this site.” 10:17:31 AM 8/20/03 “Mutt, one last post because I really don't want to get into this ridiculous nonsense any more than you do. I find that there are certain threads that I enjoy reading and following. The trolls have invaded some of those and when you are reading something that flows like that, it's not always conducive to skipping over being that it is in your line of sight and if the post is long enough, you may not even realize at first who posted it. The ignore feature cuts through that and lets you read the thread without the idiotic offending pictures and whatnot. That, in itself, makes it a useful feature to me. Am I an ineffectual pu$$y for that? If so, please use the new feature that Matt installed. You will find it at the bottom of this post...” 10:19:21 AM 8/20/03 “No sense arguing with Muttonhead. He's the most intelligent being on the planet. We should all fall to our knees under the light of his presence and thank the Almighty for sending him into our midst. Believe in Muttonhead and you are saved!” 10:20:26 AM 8/20/03 “Mutt...it is much easier to ignore posts that do not appear on the thread. If the posts are there, to ignore them, one would have to scroll to the bottom of eeah post to see who wrote it, then back to the top to read, then to the bottom of the next post, etc. I take your point, fritz. However, this still should not be a problem for a mature adult. You can read a post and still ignore it - it's really not difficult. I guess I'm a little disgusted at the lack of self-control and emotional maturity people are displaying on this matter.” 10:24:40 AM 8/20/03 “I'm putting you all on my list.” 10:27:43 AM 8/20/03 “Now you've done it Fritz. You've been judged and found wanting by Muttonhead, cast off into the world of disbelievers.” 10:28:05 AM 8/20/03 “I see you have used the restraint of a mature adult in ignoring these posts, Mutt...” 10:30:35 AM 8/20/03 “I guess I'm a little disgusted at the lack of self-control and emotional maturity people are displaying on this matter." Mutt 10:24:40 AM 08/20/03 Seems to me that a really mature person would be smart enough to avoid the entire topic of whether the ignore button is mature or not. So shut it Mutt, and show us all how wonderfully mature you are!” 10:31:37 AM 8/20/03 treebeard “What makes you think I wanted to ignore these posts?” 10:32:43 AM 8/20/03 “Are you this thick headed in real life?” 10:33:23 AM 8/20/03 “Seems to me that a really mature person would be smart enough to avoid the entire topic of whether the ignore button is mature or not. Huh? How do you justify that?” 10:35:03 AM 8/20/03 “can i ignor treebeard? would that be wrong?” 10:35:25 AM 8/20/03 “Are you this thick headed in real life? Is this really treebeard? Usually he's a little more lucid than he's been in this thread. Hey radagast, I remember you had a trick that let you post as anyone you wanted. You pulling that trick now or what?” 10:38:16 AM 8/20/03 “You just don't understand tree, when you are the most intelligent, most mature, most wonderful person in the entire universe, sent here to Earth to help us mere mortals understand our wicked ways, you might appear thick-headed to less intelligent beings. It's like Bill Murray said in "What About Bob?", we have no hope of ever understanding him!” 10:42:51 AM 8/20/03 “Actually I was the one who could post as anyone I wanted (my favorite troll Fritz could to) but matt fixed our wagons.” 10:43:03 AM 8/20/03 Jump to Page << prev
