“Just got a nice check from the Canadian government for about 80 bucks (US) yesterday (Refund of GST tax). I have no idea if that's how much I should have gotten back. It's very clever of them to take a long time processing it, counting on everyone forgetting what they applied for....

Interestingly, the Canadian government is faster than my own health insurance company. I still haven't gotten the part of the out-of-pocket costs I'm supposed to get back (from "the incident" in Jasper, post hike), although they claim the check will be in the mail this week.”

“B-man, surprised they didn't pay you in "loonies."”

“80 loonies... That'd make my pockets look funny. "Hey, is that 80 loonies in yer pocket, or are ya just glad to see me?"

“Yesterday we received a check from our health insurance company for the full amount of our out-of-pocket emergency room costs for my post-Yoho, uh, er, um, incident. Not bad, eh? Only took 'em 7 months!”
