"So the Christian concept of Messiah as Son of God and the Judaic concept are different. Messiah and Prophet are much closer to the same?"

Yes, the majore lynch pin in the whole Messiah conflict between Judaism and Christianity is the issue of divinity of the Messiah. For Christianity the deity of the Messiah is one of the biggest issues and for Judaism it is one of the greatest prohibitions in belief. While the coming of the Messiah is one of the 13 pricpals of faith for the Jew it is not as big an issue as it may be for Christians because in Judaism the following of, the worship of or even a belief in the Messiah is not a requirment of salvation. It's just something that's going to happen and we're all going to be happy when it does.

A daddy was listening to his child say his prayer "Dear Harold,"
........ At this, dad interrupted and said, "Wait a minute, "How come
you called God, Harold? The little boy looked up and said, "That's
what they call Him in church. You know the prayer we say, "Our
Father, who art in Heaven, Harold be Thy name.

It's Harolds brother Howard and his other brother Howard and his other brother Howard. Tilt, you're from Georgia, you should know how these things work.

Okay... is this how it goes?

Farther out than inevitable,
Halloween be thy game.
Sky King is come, and Wilma's done,
Uncertain as it is uneven.
Give us this day hors d'oevres in bed,
And forgive those who have dressed up against us.
For wine is the shingle,
And amor,
And a story for your father.

All Right!!

Griz...
...would it be a suprise to you (and all others for that matter) I am not LDS but I see nothing wrong with them "proselytizing" as you call it. They have every right to do so just as our friend Nigal to share his beliefs EVEN if I don't happen to agree 100% of the time with the guy.

I DID live with an LDS Stake Missionary if that has any bearing with this subject. As for the hypocrisy thing, I never seen much of that, I should say any more than what I see with people of other religious confessions.

Actually, the LDS Church and members treated me the best of ALL the religions I had experience with. I can't say anything bad about my LDS friends.

So Ohio, if you don't mind sharing... What is your diagnosis?

"I see nothing wrong with them "proselytizing" as you call it. They have every right to do so just as our friend Nigal to share his beliefs"

Big difference between proselytizing and sharing my beliefs. Proselytizing attempts to convert someone from their present religion to the proselytizer's religion. My sharing my beliefs is nothing like that as I do suggest anyone leaves their religion. Judaism is strickly a non-missionary religion (save for the most liberal movements). Judaism does not seek converts and any rabbi worth his salt will turn away a gentile at least three times before accepting his conversion.

"IF Jesus is NOT what "Christians" claim him to be and truly a false prophet, then under the Law of God ALL false prophets were to be put to death. And Israel was not "to be afraid of him"."

One question Ohio Hiker...Exactly WHO is suppossed to pass judgement and do the executing of a false prophet?

I believe that is what Mormon Missionaries do-share their beliefs. That doesn't bother me at all. They have their "Mission" to do and I repect that. Not everyone is Jewish, Nigal and people have spiritual needs and perhaps the LDS Missionaries can fill that need. Something for you to ponder.

"Not everyone is Jewish, Nigal and people have spiritual needs and perhaps the LDS Missionaries can fill that need."

Good G-d man that's what I've been TRYING to say! Aaaauhhhh! It's not Judaism or nothing, it's the road that G-d has you on weather it winds through four different religions in your life or not. As long as the religions stay seperate.

Why does Rabbi Eckstein "partner" with Evangelical Christians then? He's Orthodox. He's not keeping "separate"-he's "partnering" with Christians!

Ohio, listen, you are reading my words but you aren’t listening. When I talk about keeping religions separate I’m not talking about shunning all others outside of your religion as you are taking it. I’m talking about seeking to convert the other religions or mixing the two religions into something new and completely different. Rabbi Eckstien is a great man and a true bridge builder between Judaism and Christianity in order that both Jews and Christians can gain a better understanding of the other’s religion. He is not mixing the two.

Do you understand my point better now? I don’t know how many more ways I can say it to help you understand me better.

Nigel Tufnel: The numbers all go to eleven.
Look, right across the board, eleven, eleven,
eleven and....
Marty DiBergi: Oh, I see. And most amps go up
to ten?
Nigel Tufnel: Exactly.
Marty DiBergi: Does that mean it's louder? Is it
any louder?
Nigel Tufnel: Well, it's one louder, isn't it? It's
not ten. You see, most blokes, you know, will be
playing at ten. You're on ten here, all the way
up, all the way up, all the way up, you're on ten
on your guitar. Where can you go from there?
Where?

Marty DiBergi: Why don't you just make ten
louder and make ten be the top number and
make that a little louder?
Nigel Tufnel: [Sigh, Pause.] These go to eleven!

You guys have got it ALL wrong! The REAL goal of religion is to Get Slack, and the ONLY church that reveals HOW to Get Slack is The Church of the Subgenius!
