How many miles long was the trip?” 11:06:03 PM 8/18/03 “The sunset pics are beautiful!” 11:11:17 PM 8/18/03 eye candy!! “what i think is... i never, ever get enough of peoples photos of their trips in the Winds.... The Winds were my very first backpacking experience west of the Mississippi and above 6000 feet. I came back different...:) Thanks for sharing your beautiful trip photos, the storms and clouds are way cool to see.....” 11:23:04 PM 8/18/03 “Awesome photos Chas !! The sunsets are fantastic ! I bet you and Michael had a great time” 11:23:16 PM 8/18/03 “Very nice. I'm jealous.” 11:57:22 PM 8/18/03 Mileage “The total mileage ended up being around 35 - 40 because of the detour. Although a pain, the detour did offer us the opportunity to see some of the area (Lozier Lakes - New Fork River) we would have otherwise missed. The shuttle between trailheads was about 30 some miles. It was great of the The Forest Service to provide the free shuttle service. They had about 3 rigs going at a time so we didn't even have to wait. All told, I believe something like 60 folks had been detoured by the time we got out.” 12:04:09 AM 8/19/03 “I can't look at any more, makes me lonesome and nostalgic for the best backpacking experience(s) in my life. What camara are you using?” 12:04:34 AM 8/19/03 “I used a Nikon Coolpix 2500. For the sunset pictures I brought along one of those little plastic REI tripods. During the 7 days I took 295 pictures on a 128 MB card and used two batteries. Actually all the pictures on my Webshots site were taken with this camera.” 12:07:42 AM 8/19/03 “I'm leaving for the winds Wednesday. What trailhead is closed due to fire?” 12:10:30 AM 8/19/03 “It's the Green River Lakes Trailhead. The fire is still burning and the trailhead remains closed. Clear Creek Fire ” 12:14:18 AM 8/19/03
