Here is the deal. I am going and can drive. Problem is I have a Jeep Wrangler and can only fit 1 maybe 2 people at the most.

Mike, let me know how we want to do this. I will drive your ass down there, unless you want to drive.

I am kinda still waiting to hear from a friend in Jacksonville, but I do not expect to hear so I am 90% sure we can carpool.

I will know more on Monday.”

“This is a backpacking trip right?? It's starting to sound like a frat party! How many miles a day will be able to put in? I hear the trail is like a racetrack. Flat”

“Yep, to me it's a backpacking trip. I'm not into frat parties and have no interest in attending one.

i don't have my map in front of me but we are looking at about 7 miles Fri and Sat and 6 on Sun. The trail is relatively flat.”

“Thanks HPM. Those will be fairly short hiking days if it's flat. Are their opportunities for side trips?”

“Not really on this section. Further south there is. It's a pretty section.”

“Last week the doc said it might be sooner than the due date. We go again the Monday before the trip so we'll get the lowdown then.

She is feeling big, tired, achey, has heartburn, and has to sleep sitting up most of the time. She is experiencing the nesting instict, but doesn't have the energy to do all she wants so she is a bit frustrated. But in spite of feeling bad physically - her spirits are high and we are both excited about meeting Little Coop #2 soon.

I was thinking a reflective night in the forest would be nice to center my mind and spirit before the birth. Now it sounds like a rave party!

It will be nice to meet all these new folks though.”

“i don't post over here on this side real often but i am guilty of lurking. i have wanted to do the ocala trip for a while and i have just gotten the time off from work. so i guess i will be joining up and getting to meet some of you fellow hikers. i live over in the st pete area and is a short drive up to ocala nf. i will check back in later to get alittle more info. see yaa”

“thanks guys can't wait to get there. a couple of questions, how much water should we start out with. i usually carry 3 qts. but was unsure if i needed more because of the water situation. i probably need to go back and re-read about the trip. also how many miles/ it didn't look too far, 15-20miles? and where will we be parking our cars? my cousin lives up in ocala and she may shuttle me from there. thanks”

“ya gforce, 77 degrees, and breezy.. all the windows are open today, i went to temple in shorts and flip flops this morning.
yesterday it was 29 degrees in the morning and in the 70's by the afternoon...thats florida in winter!
i hope this weekend trend holds up for you snowbirds.....but you
never know...mother nature can be shameless sometimes...
it is neat that you are coming to this hike....will be fun to hike with you again.
