two maybes equal an almost sure?
I guess I joined twice. I'll set this aside on the calendar. Wanted to go last year but circumstances at work were tough. I'm 98.5% a sure bet. Look forward to meeting lots of new faces to match the names!

Let's watch that "old" talk. Just because my baby daughter(20) can carry more that me, it does not mean that I am old.

TangoYou asked, you beautiful doll: I first mentioned using a tarp in my trip report from last fall. And I mentioned it in my spring trip report, when I switched to a tarp after the first few days. Oh, also, I used just a tarp for Ocala NF-2.

Right now Saturday the 15th looks good for me. I'm flexy though. Is this a one nighter?

I've never been on the trail north of Salt Springs so this should be fun.

Hmm this could go two ways:

1. Honey I can think of nothing better for my birthday then spending time with you in the outdoors.

2. Yeah, that's what I want to do for my special day. Sit next to Artex and Big Coop eating "birthday" ramen.

well i actually think i can make this one. i'm still thinking on the tc3 trip.

This will be the northernmost section of the trail in Ocala so it's north of the hike last year which was actually south of the hike the year before.

These TT hikes will have covered all but the bottom 8 (or so) miles from Clearwater Lake to Alexander Springs.
Big Coop

It was a blast going for a dip after a day of hiking on Ocala 1.

It looks like we'll hike near lake Delacey, but I think there's a developed campsite there, so maybe not the best swimmin' hole/camspsite.

WD

I got a nice one from the ranger station on my way into the forest a couple of years ago. Not sure if they ship them.

http://www.southernregion.fs.fed.us/florida/contact/index.shtml

I called up there this morning trying to get an update on trail conditions but they were all in a big meeting. I will probably call them again this afternoon. I will ask if they ship maps to people.

HPM, Coop any of you guys know if the forest would be doable this weekend? I know the bugs would still be bad. Would all the trails be under water?

My son wants to go backpacking this weekend but he is in school so we are limited to Florida. Every thing down here is flooded.

It'll be a wading experience. It frequently is in February too, if the rains are normal. Just take lots of socks and you should be fine.
We got our maps from the Florida trail society, but the forestry service decent maps too.
treebait

Treebait is thinking of Osceola National Forest to the north.

Ocala should be just fine about now. There will be some wet spots but nothing major that I know of.

Now Osceola on the other hand should be pretty wet and muddy.
