“I have a 17' trek canoe. It's not a long as Artex's kayak but it's wider, deeper, heavier and it's made of metal so it's harder too.

It takes two to carry it and it can sleep two also.”

I used to portage a 17 footer Smokercraft canoe weighing 86 pounds plus paddles, cushions, etc., with a fully loaded #4 Duluth Back, about 8,000 cu. in. on my back. I may do it again, if I move to Minnesota and/or if I go on a trip with one or more of my sons. Thip planning has been initiated with one son.”

“I think it's around 80# or so.
Treebait and I plan on going to the Boundary Waters with our Scouts next summer. Should be a great trip.”
