tarabull-

I'm sure gojo is busy building my deck stairway today...at least he'd better be ;-) I'll make sure he checks his Hotmail acct. and this thread tonight when I get home. In the meantime, send your home number to the e-mail listed in my TT profile. If gojo doesn't have anything in hos Hotmail acct., I'll have him give you a call. I'll get the e-mail today (it's my personal acct., so I'll have to check it when you let me know it's been sent) and send you my home and work numbers.

Sarabelle, Gizmo and Merlin have quickly become friends. Merlin is sharing his toys, food bowl, water bowls and stomping grounds. I don't think the cat is enjoying all the new activity around the house, though. She's kind of shy.

Gojo's working on your deck? I don't know dude. I've heard how he works on decks. Check out this testimonial from his last deck customer...

"Well, I am a little embarrassed to admit this, but about six months ago I decided to have a deck built on the back of my house. Since I am a pretty busy guy, I thought it would be best to get a contractor do the work. I checked around to find the one with the best price for the job and I finally found one. I was so excited, because I heard good things about this guy. Anyways, I hired this guy to build my deck, but after a few weeks I started to..well, how should I put this? I started to think that this guy wasn't a very good contractor because it was about three weeks later and nothing was done on my deck yet. I was going to ask the guy what was going on, so I came home about a week later to confront him. Well, I noticed the guys truck was there, but he wasn't working on my deck. So I walked into the house and I heard some strange noises coming from the bedroom. I walked in and I found this guy laying on top of my wife, and they were both naked!

I asked the guy, "What's going on?" and he gave me the answer that he had lost his tape measure and was trying to find out how tall my wife was so she could lay down by the boards so he could cut them. Well, this kind of disturbed me because I don't think this guy really knows what he is doing. I mean, what kind of contractor is that careless with his tools?

Now, you might be wondering why they were both naked. Well, I am no idiot. Everyone knows that you can't get an accurate reading of someone's height with all their clothes on. Or is that weight? I can never remember.

Anyway, I called a call-in radio talk-show and talked to a guy about it, and what I found out was kind of disturbing. I found out that there may be an affair going on. As in the contractor is married and having sex with someone else. I almost couldn't believe my ears, but I just figured that the guys marital infidelity has nothing to do with his workmanship.

I can't let you know how relieved I was to hear that."

Nigal-

It's my neighbors I'm worried about. Once they find out what good work gojo does, I'll never be able to get him to finish any projects for me.

Holy guacamole. Two days and the stairs still aren't finished. I'm doing a rather unorthodoxed landing design which has required alot of syphering and head scratchin'. It's gonna be worth the time, tho.

I'm no longer confused about the haps with my email(s).

Ski and I are pretty much packed and ready for tomorrow's trek up to the Whites. Mt. Washington or bust...

I'll be Monday finishing the stairs, and Tuesday hitting the road. I'll prolly be close to the end of the week getting to Michigan.

Anywoohoo, I'm gonna check my email for whatever goodies lie in wait at gojo58@hotmail.com. That's gojo58@hotmail.com.

Gojo and I stopped by Home Depot on Sunday on our way back from our overnighter in the Whites. We picked up a few more supplies to finish the stairs off the deck. I came home from work tonight to find gojo working like a dog until after it was dark. The stairs are mostly finished. He just has a couple more rails to do and a gate to keep the dog on the deck. Gojo did some major engineering work to support a landing on three posts instead of four so we'd still have plenty of room to get the wheelbarrow or snowblower between the stairs and the fence. The rock wall is not obscured and the bottom steps are tied solidly into the rock wall. My recommendation to any TTer that needs work done...hire this guy! He does fantastic work and won't eat you out of house and home. He will however, drink your beer! ;-) Sarabelle and Gizmo are pretty good houseguests. Merlin has willingly shared his food and water bowls and all of his toys without too much complaint. The three of them have played outside all the time and wore each other out. Sarabelle is sacked out beside me right now. I don't think the cat would give the same recommendation. She has remained pretty scarce while the dogs were in the house. I've given gojo a comfortable bed in the guest room. I hope he won't feel the need to drink the rest of the beer in the house and christen the steps by sleeping on them tonight.

Hey gojo, do you always talk about yourself in the third person like that? lol

Thanks, ski, for the recommendation. I might have a carpentry project for him if he makes his way to Michigan... Nothing fancy like steps, tho. But something dad has decided he might not feel like handling.

Awwwwwwritey, then.
I'll be finished with the steps by 10 am tomorrow if it kills me! Holier Guacamole - three-plus days on a single set of stairs. Skiracer's right though - they are magnificent! lol!

I do love to play with other people's money. It's been a fun project. And as always, I gotta get everything juuuust so...

(I *almost* hate leaving them behind).

I'll be heading from here to Bangor, PA tomorrow. I'm going to do a grab bar for my (now married w/o me!) Philadelphia Philly's mom. I'm not sure how far out of the way I'll be going (toward MI), and frankly, I don't want to know. I told her I'd do it, so I'm gonna do it.

I'll prolly do the Moon Pie lunch with Nigal Wednesday, then into Michigan come Thursday.

Any of you Michiganders gonna be around Thursday evening?

Gojo's trips are always good reading, especially the cross coutry drives. He is like the Ambassador for TT, stopping in key cities to shake hands with the common folk. I must've lost the election this year for PA representative though. :/

Well, Gojo, Sarabelle and Gizmo are gone. The stairs off the deck look great! I have to say...the house seems awfully quiet. I think Gojo was on his way to Eastern PA for a quick fix-up job and then he was westward bound. Safe travels Gojo, Belle and Gizmo! Thanks for gracing our place. You'll all be missed.

I don't know what time Gojo's getting to my house on Thurs. Or whether or not he's gonna be up to a night out after driving. So, for now, plans/time/location are yet to be determined.

I tried to get online before leaving Ski's place yesterday, but a window popped-up that said something about getting my low tech arse off the computer...

I stopped at the Humane Society near Ski's place to see about getting the dogs into Canada (I scrapped PA, BTW), and ended up assisting some stranded motorists. I didn't get out of the area until after dark. I slept at a rest area just south of Burlington, VT. I'm in Milton now.

So far this a.m. I've laundered the sleeping bags, bought a thermostat and brake pads for The Mighty Mighty Tacoma, and detailed the interior of said truck. I'll be crossing into Canada as soon as I get the truck washed and vaccumed.

I plan to stop only in Ottawa for a little capital city sightseeing, then continue on to Detroit. I should hit the metro area this evening - prolly later than sooner. I plan to get a room tonight so's I can get Spring Fresh (I wanna smell my best before meeting everyone). I may get a room while still in Canada, I dunno.

I have Tarabull's phone number. I can get in touch with her Thursday if nothing else.

Sass -
email me your number at "gojo58@hotmail.com" if you like. I can call you when I get there.

You too, Smiley.

I'll be quite up for a night on the town Thursday!

Lizs -
I'll make every effort to be around "post su vacay".

I'm gonna check my email now, and will check this thread later today.

Tootles.

BTW - If you're ever offered the opportunity to visit the Ski's, seize it!

Thank you, again, Ski and Mrs. Ski for so warmly offering your hearth and home.

Gojo- I don't know why you didn't come back to the house last night...warm house, comfortable bed, food, beer. You could have even detailed the truck right there in the driveway. When you hit the rest area south of Burlington, you were only and hour and a half away. I know you had the road wanderlust thing goin' on, though. Safe travels, my friend.

I have a friend who lives in International Falls. He got "banned" from Canada by a Border Patrol guy. Five years later he tried to cross the border again, and, the same Border Patrol guy was there and recognized him. The Border Patrol guy said; "I thought I told you to never come back to Canada?"

True story.
