I'm not so worried about that poor kid, but I am worried about Artex. What were you doing on that website in the first place? Do me a favor, tilt your head to side and knock out all that salt water that seeped into your brain.

HA! It's a beautiful Sunday so what are you doing home, making more stickmen with your new widget, or mastering that kid's moves with your kayak?

I'm out the door to do some mountain biking.

btw - I got a new cell phone (guess what color it's NOT?), and I'll be dumping my land line this week.

Ah, smart move. I have no regrets of losing my landline. Just having the cell works fine, and I'm saving hundreds a year.

Mountain biking? You bastard! I'm just playing with the dremel today, no kayaking scheduled.

Changes made to episodes 4, 5, and 6 for the DVD
LOS ANGELES, California (CNN) -- George Lucas made several changes in "Star Wars" when the film was re-released in 1997. With the "Star Wars" trilogy on DVD, he's tinkered a little more. Here are five changes Lucas made:

5. Jedis don't scream

The 1997 special edition version of "The Empire Strikes Back" was changed so Luke wails as he jumps off the platform in Cloud City. In the only instance of Lucas undoing a later alteration (sadly, Greedo still shoots first on the DVD of "A New Hope"), he's taken it off the DVD edition. Maybe he realized Jedis (even ones in training) don't scream.

4. Boba Fett has a new voice

Since Boba Fett is a clone of Jango Fett, and Jango Fett is played by Temura Morrison, doesn't it make sense that he should sound like him, too? That's exactly what George Lucas thought, so Morrison was brought in to revoice the four lines of dialogue (yes, believe it or not there are only four!) Boba spoke in the original trilogy.

3. A new and improved Jabba

Remember that dodgy-looking computer-generated Jabba they inserted into the 1997 re-release of "A New Hope"? Well, he looks a little less dodgy this time around thanks to some improved CGI.

2. The emperor's new clothes

In the original version of "The Empire Strikes Back," the emperor Darth Vader speaks to via hologram was played by a woman in a mask (!) and voiced by Clive Revill. Again, in the interests of consistency, Ian McDiarmid -- who portrays the emperor in "Return of the Jedi" and the prequel trilogy -- now appears in that scene with an added line or two of dialogue.

1. The big finale

The 1997 special edition of "Return of the Jedi" added a few "Star Wars" worlds joining the celebration of the Empire's demise at the end of the film. For the DVD, they've added Naboo, a planet that figures prominently in the prequel trilogy. Also, Anakin Skywalker is noticeably different this time around. When he removes his Darth Vader helmet, he now has no eyebrows! It's probably safe to assume he singes them off in his battle with Obi-Wan Kenobi in next summer's "Return of the Sith" and a change had to be made.

But the most noticeable change -- and perhaps one some "Star Wars" diehards will have a tough time stomaching -- is Hayden Christensen (who plays young Anakin in the prequel trilogy) now appearing in the scene where the "force ghosts" of Anakin, Obi Wan, and Yoda smile at Luke. One thing's for sure, there's plenty for fans to debate -- that is, until the trilogy comes out yet again on another format in the future and Mr. Lucas makes his inevitable changes ...

All of these changes makes believe less and less of the orginal idea Lucas had. The prequels were made too far removed from 4, 5 and 6 and even 6 was starting of the *end* of the magic. When he screwed around with the re-issue, Lucas started down a slippery-slope of *red-light district CGI*. The things added to 4 were dismissal at best.

Sorry, when it comes to SW, I'm a real strong purest who feels that over time, Lucas has done more to screw up the story line and imporve it. The whole thing has become predictable, with the *same chit, different episode* tone.

I love the original 4 - 6. I grew up with those movies. "A New Hope" came out the year I was born and I saw Jedi in the theatre and watched Empire over and over again on video disk. I had all the figures and toys. I was a star wars junkie. I was convinced that I was a Jedi when I was 6 years old. The originals are better than the new versions but I will get the DVDs anyhow. Can't help it.

THAT IS TOTAL BS. NOW IM PISSED. IF HE IS GOING TO F IT UP THAT BAD WHY NOT JUST PUT EWAN MCGREGOR IN PLACE OF SIR ALEC GUINNESS (YES I\'M BEING SACASTIC). ATHOUGH HE DID NEED TO FIX THAT STUPID JABBA THEY MADE FOR THE REDO OF A NEW HOPE.

Who doesn't Love that South Park episode where they mock Lucas and Speilberg for "enhancing" older films?

I loved the original 3 episodes.

The new ones (I haven't even bothered to watch Episode 3... NOT in the least way interested any more!) are no where nearly as good... and the young Anakin is a terrible actor AND Jar Jar Binks had to be the most annoying and idiotic character ever invented...

I'm sad to hear that he decided to make the changes in the re-release....

BTW-- is it me, or does the link not work on that site?

I don't know much about screaming Jedi's, but I do know that putting Hayden Christensen in the original episodes (Return of the Jedi)is WRONG! It was wrong to have him as the young Anakin in the new episodes. And two wrongs don't make it right. As it was, I have been trying to convice myself that the original three (4,5,6) were completely different stories, un-related to the later less inspiring movies. I am sad to hear about this...very sad.

4 - 6 were deffinatly the best! 1 & 2 were a bit over done. I'll watch 3 just because I love the trilogy but I'm not expecting a Masterpiece.

I saw Star Wars 2 weeks after it was origionally realeased. I was very young but I swear to this day the Darth Vaders Tie Fighter blew up at the end. The second time I saw it (about 2 weeks later) it just twirrled out into space. I think Lucas could smell sequeal and changed it.

THX 1138 is being re-releaesed. I heard Darth vader and Indiana Jones will be added to the cast.

Plus an alien space ship that likes to play repetitive musical notes.

I read somewhere that the "Star Wars Kid" is suing someone or some website because they used his "light sabre" sequence without his permission.

I think the "Kid" is from Quebec...if I'm correct. Says that he have been ridiculed and embarassed by the release of the video clip. Ka-ching......
