CAMP VERDE - A 60-year-old man is facing indecent exposure charges after doing some "swinging" of sorts at Beaver Creek Campground.

Yavapai County Sheriff's deputies said Ronald H. Peterson of Camp Verde was swinging naked from a tree rope into a creek swimming hole.

When taken into custody on Monday, both Peterson and a partially attired female friend admitted that they had consumed "some beers," said Susan Quayle, a Yavapai County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman.

Deputies were called to the campground a few miles northeast of Camp Verde after a family called to complain about a nude man swinging from a tree, Quayle said.

"Peterson claimed he did not do it with the intent of offending anyone and denied seeing the family of picnickers across the creek," she said.

He was booked in a Yavapai County jail in Camp Verde on six felony counts and five misdemeanor counts of indecent exposure, Quayle said.”

“I nearly got caught once. I was in Devon and had been in the pub for several hours (I know I know, man drowns, alcohol believed tobe involved). But we sneaked onto this private beach and the tide was way out, so leaving our clothes by the dunes we jogged out to the cold Atlantic, about a dozen or so of us. I spashed around in the surf and, it being cold, I decided to make my way back acorss the 150 yard sands to my clothes. It was about midnight, and this being a private beach, a patrol would come across now and then, as many young people would go there at night and light fires in the dunes. As I got back about ten yards from my clothes, a pair of headlights cut through the night. I dove for cover and grabbed my clothes. As I looked round my still-naked buddies were caught in the middle of the beach in the full glare of the approaching Land Rover. They scattered in all directions, as I tried to suppress my laughter at a dozen naked guys scrambled for cover some heading back to the ocean, some making a run for the dunes and the vehicle began catching them. One of the funniest things I've ever seen. Of course I then proceeded to hide their clothes.”

“yeah, you get some real hardcore boys there in the winter. I lived in Cornwall for a year, and there's a lot of surfers then. I also discovered that when you actually meet then, most of them aren't really that cool. Some are, but not many.”
