We're baaaack...
We had our
college cross country
pre-season high altitude camp over the past weekend. We went up to Cooke City, MT for 4 days of running, twice a day at altitudes of 7,500 to 10,000 feet.

Day 1- a.m.- 4 miles easy before leaving
p.m.-8 miles up to the abandoned Irma Mine at 8,600 feet.

Day 2- a.m.-8 miles from Soda Butte Creek to Daisy Pass at 10,000 feet.
p.m.- 4 miles easy along the Bannock Trail into Yellowstone Park

Day 3- a.m.-10 miles into Wyoming along the Sawtooth Lake road at 10,000 feet. The lead guy ran into a Grizzly so we decided to turn around.
p.m.- easy run along the Bannock Trail. Soaking and swimming in Crazy Creek.

Day 4- a.m.- Choice of 8 miles up Daisy pass or 8 up to Irma Mine.

It was a great time. We ran a lot, soaked in the ice cold Crazy Creek Falls, hiked, watched movies on the deck of the cabin at night and ate lots of food!
I'm pooped!

I don't suppose they let fat, old, computer programmers become women's cross-country coaches, do they?

Am I that transparent?

One of the things I love the most about doing dayhikes at the State Park here is going on Sunday mornings early in the school year, and watching the girls on the high school cross-country teams run by me.

Yes, I am a disgusting lecher, lol!

Grizzly sitings, 10 mile runs and cold dips into the stream definitely lead to shrinkage!

Awesome. Aero, you are officially an ass kicker. In great shape, able to run like a crazy person, hangs out w/ hotties, what other qualifications do you need?! LOL! Good luck on the season. I'll be cheering for you guys.

P.S. School starts tomorrow. Suck!

Yeah, good luck this year, Newgirl! Hope all goes well and you don't get any creepy eastern European profs. How's the credit load this semester?

7 credits. The part-timer plugs along. Spanish and Finance. I'm sure it will be complete joy and euphoria. Actually, euphoria is a real possibility due to sleep deprivation. Get off work at 1:30, to sleep by 2, up at 8 at the latest, class by 9:20.

Newergirl is going to be going to the daycare on campus for the 2 hrs. I'm in class. She's pumped. She keeps telling everyone that she goes to college w/ her mom now.
