Great headline,eh?? lol
OK, I'm using the Pepsi can stove and carrying Heet for fuel. I tried putting the top back on the Heet bottle. It seems to snap down, but still fuel ends up all over (mind you, it was quadruple-bagged)

Do I just need to break down and get a fuel bottle, or any other ideas for carrying? I'm typically not out long enough to use up one bottle on a trip.

Yes, that's a cool headline. Ever consider a career in journalism?

you really only need about 1/4 cup of fuel. you can even do with tablespoons worth

depends on what you are cooking and how long you are out on the trial.

I just use this plastic container i got from work. it you want one I can send it to you.

Any little bottle will just about do. I use a little 8 fl. oz. squeeze bottle I got from REI.
Soda bottles work well.

Little Nalgene bottles are cheap and work well.

This is the two bottles I use the most.
4-oz. Boston Round Bottle with Squirt Cap
$1.25
.

Flat Oval Poly Bottle with Cap - 8 oz.
$1.55
.

I use the Squirt Cap from the 4 oz. bottle on the 8 oz. also. It fits both bottles.

The 4 fl. Oz. bottle is good for boiling 4 pints of water, plenty for an overnighter. The 8 fl. oz. is good for 3-4 days or boiling 8 pints. If I'm out longer, take a soda or water bottle sized about 1 fl. oz. for each hot meal. MARK AS POISON!

I use the 4 oz nalagene bottle bought at REI. I have two. The screw cap is great, never have to worry about drinking from it in the middle of the night (it's much different than any other bottles I carry) and never spills.

Hey Lizs I use Heet for my tin can stoves and I think it gives off more heat but it burns much faster the reg Denatured Alc.

for myself reducing the number of pieces in my can stove was one of the ways it got lighter and way simpler. i manged to get it down to from seven pieces to four including this fuel bottle/measuring cup combo.

So Heet is not of a caustic nature, that it would eat its way through some unbelievably cheap little travel cosmetic bottle from WalMart??

So Heet is not of a caustic nature

It's basically just alcohol, just not the sort you can drink.

Pretty much any decent plastic container which doesn't leak will work. Lots of folks use plastic "mineral water" bottles with a sports cap like you'll find in the cooler at any convenience store.

Watch out with the fliptop bottles like that 4oz "Boston Round" at REI mentioned earlier. I have a couple of those and have found they can leak a little bit around the flip-up thingy.

I have been using a 4oz bottle that Coglahns camp soap comes in and it works great! It is pretty much flat so it isnt bulky and its strong but still pretty light and it has a little flip up spout on the lid that is handy for filling the stove. Streamweaver

I still very strong that Heet is better to use with the stoves becuase of how hot it burns but I think that is just what I like to use and I have found that it gives the best boil times.

I love my stove that Stovestomper sent me its the BOMB!!!!!
