Is Eternal Security True?

I hear alot of discussion concerning the doctrine of Eternal Security. It's the teaching of "when one accepts Christ as one's personal saviour that person is saved for all time and eternity". Charles Stanley is one of the big proponents of this Doctrine alond with most Bible-believing churches. What's the truth on this most important subject?

I guess Buddur doesn't have the answer or the Holy Spirit of God. Perhaps the spirit of the Prince of this world would be a better description.

yes it is true. but you need to relize this, there is more than one place to have this eternal security. it is possible for you to end up in a place forever that you don't want to be. look at it like a bad investment if you want. would you ask a broke person for advice on investments. i would suggest you seek this advice from a different site. some trails lead to the same place, some go the same way for a while, then they take you to the wrong place. sounds like you are getting lost.

You can probably answer your question better than most of us. But what I suspect your getting at is the long running debate between Calvinism and Arminianism.

So the presumption is that unless you accept Jesus as G-d and savoir you can not attain salvation?

Can you show me where in the Tanack it says that one most accept a messiah as G-d to gain salvation?

Actually, I want to know. This is one of life's most important things. To gain the whole world but lose your own soul would indeed be most horrible. Jesus said to believe on him one would have eternal life, didn't he?

Then why ask us? No one here is a priest.

Personally I do not believe in Eternal Security or "once saved always saved" as I was taught to call it. I find most people I meet who belive in eternal security are those who use it to justify thier own poor behaviour here in life. Paul Hill being one current hideous example.

The possibility of falling out of grace holds much biblical precedence. For example, Satan himself once once an angel who fell from grace. If an angel can fall from grace then why not a mere flawed human?

A question for God
Phaeddy,

please ask God;

Why are all Sousaphones tubas, but not all tubas are Sousaphones?

I've pondered this question, like, forever.

Thanks

Ask Bill Clinton
He knows! "I did NOT have sex with that woman", remember that how he lied to the American people? And also turned the White House into the Whore House, never forget that!

Capn Bobo

I'm not God, but here goes.

The Sousaphone is a style of bass tuba. Tubas that are built in the circular form are called "Helicons" and the bell (opening) is fixed and faces forward.

John Philip Sousa thought that the standard helicon style of tuba worked fine for parades and the like but its tone was apt to shoot ahead too prominently and explosively to suite him for concert performances. Sousa spoke to Mr. Pepper of the JWPepper music company and asked him to develop a helicon whose bell was adjustable so that it could be positioned to face forward for parade playing and adjusted upwards for concert playing. Mr. Pepper loved the idea and called the new bass horn a Sousaphone.

So only helicon form tubas with adjustable bells are sousaphones.
