Lightweight
I go by "Coop" in real life and it was my preference when I first signed up but somehow I lost the password - Matt has hooked me back up and I'm pondering dropping the "Big".

Yes I am tall, but I'm into conservation, simplicity and saving disk space sooo...

If there are no objections - just call me Coop.

Besides Dr. Funk is already taken.

Coop. It rhymes with poop! But I don't think you'd like it if we called you that.

Looks like you already lost it.

I'm taking it for a test drive.

Artex is bringing back all the pain of 4th grade. Oh yeah - well Artex rhymes with Fartex!

It's contagious! Sirpeteofmillwork started it last week by dropping the 'ofmillwork' and I dropped that damned hiker that's been dragging behind me.

So what's the scoop, Coop? Yeah, that works. Leave it to Artex to bring up poop.

Yeah Pennsy - you probably noticed that most folks would drop the "Hiker" when they typed your name. I was finding the same with the "Big", or folks will shorten it to BC - which I wouldn't always catch, also those are my mother's initials - but that's besides the point.

The test drive is complete - from now on I will be posting as Coop.

Hey Poop! Uh, make that Coop. ;)

I'm thinking of making mine shorter too. Should I just use Stove or Stomper? I'm leaning toward just Stove.

So does all this name shortening mean yam is going to have to change her name to just "y"?

Wow, if your hard drive space is so stretched that you have to lose a three letter word you want to think about perging your drive of some of that bit gobbling porn.

Now if Om would just shorten her name ...

Naw, I think I'll stay with the full name.

Coop - that works for you. The 'Big' certainly does describe you, but isn't necessary.

Hey, I increased my name recently from 6 to 10 letters. Bigger is better!

How many baseball players would pay Randy Johnson for the nickname "The Big Unit"????

Your are dropping "Big"...

Heck, I was thinking of adding "Big" and dropping 36.

"The Big Chili"...........

C'mon, Stove, do a little reading! :-)

I was Martyb before, until I almost took out Hodgeman and the Snow couple with a single boulder (better than a 7-10 split in bowling, I recall) while descending from a peak a few weeks ago....

heck...
I thought you were losing inches of your thingy...some sort of penilereduction thing.

Yeah...lose the "Big" as long as it don't impact your self esteem.

and you stove stomper...I like Stomper...but what do I know. I shall remain Stikmon.

Geez, do I need to start a whole new thread to introduce the new me?!

On a similar (?) note, I returned to work this week, only to discover that one of my clients who used to be a man is now a woman! Yes, life in California can be interesting!

Well my initials are MAC so I could be the Big MAC.

"Big Chili" is better than "Butt Chili" which was spray painted on the outside wall of the ATO house at FSU for a few years.

I think Coop is just a little more approachable than the Big versioin.

Yeah Nigal - at the rate I'm going I may just be "." some day.

Gemini

Hmmm - and I thought it had been decided.

There are two reasons why I'm shing away from the "Big"

1. I'm about 30 lbs overweight right now and would like to not be. I notice that when I'm overweight - folks tend to refer to me as "big guy" and "big man" particularly on the basketball court. A few years back I dropped 40 lbs and noticed that people called me stuff like "slim" and "stretch". So - lest I try to live up to my name.

2. The other reason is a little less tangible. I think that the word "Big" makes folks a little less approachable online. "Big" has - in my mind - a slightly nagative connotation. Little airplane serving size Tobasco Sauce and Salt and Pepper Shakers are called "cute" but their not - their just small. "Big" to someone who doesn't know you means.

I could call myself "Overthinker Coop"

or

"Way too long of a post Coop"

Hey Nowslimmer - I'm sorry I missed you in the Smokies. I hope to see you in Ocala though.
