It looks like Henri is weakened, but I still feel for those that might have had plans around here this weekend - it looks like a lot of rain is on its way. It is dark, stormy and windy here in Orlando right now.

Hmmm - maybe it's time to do a little gear testing of my own. Can my most weather worthy tarp pitch withstand a weakened tropical storm - on second thought - I already know the answer to that.

Hey coop, is that the tarp that the big limb fell on?
Hope you stay dry.

This storm was a major disapointment. We only got half an inch of rain, and were supposed to get at least six. It was just overcast all day yesterday, that's it. Sunny skies out now, I'm going kayaking in a few hours.

We haven't gotten any rain at all yet, and we need it.

Yeah - they've been promsing huge torrents ands flooding - I think it's gonna be just another rainy summer day.

treebait - I think it's heading your way. You really need it? We've been getting rain here almost daily. I guess it's your location right on the Atlantic coast.

Tahoe - no that was just another case of learning the importance of a good stakeout point for the back stake - rainwater had collected on the tarp and POP! the stake was plucked out of the moist sand.

We did however get one of those stunning tropical storm sunsets last night.

Those are killer, HPM.

I'm hoping the seas will still be kicked up. I love paddling in chop, it's a total rush!

It's supposed to rain everyday here in the summer and it hasn't for years. It's been a closer to normal this year but we can always use more rain.

It hasn't rained here at the beach for two weeks, but intown they've had flooding problems. It looks like all the rain bands are passing to the south of us.

Sa la vie
What do you expect from a storm named after a Frenchman?

Pfft, no rain, just partly cloudy skies and a nice breeze. Dangit.

It rained for about 30 minutes this morning. I ended up taking Little Coop to Sea World (she's been really into Whales lately) in the sunny afternoon.
