BTW, I picked up the new CD a few weeks ago. It is really a good one. Ironically, with his sense of humor obviously intact till the end, he recorded a cover of 'Knockin' On Heaven's Door' on the CD. I will miss his music...

Just another little silly lovesong?
Well, he went down to dinner in his Sunday best
Excitable boy, they all said
And he rubbed the pot roast all over his chest
Excitable boy, they all said
Well, he's just an excitable boy

He took in the four a.m. show at the Clark
Excitable boy, they all said
And he bit the usherette's leg in the dark
Excitable boy, they all said
Well, he's just an excitable boy

He took little Susie to the Junior Prom
Excitable boy, they all said
and he raped her and killed her, then he took her home
Excitable boy, they all said
Well, he's just an excitable boy
After ten long years they let him out of the Home
Excitable boy, they all said
And he dug up her grave and built a cage with her bones
Excitable boy, they all said
Well, he's just an excitable boy

So long to the guy that helped make my college years weirder!

Warren Zevon...
was the an original band member to Linda Ronstat. He was a musical icon to me and served to warp my musical interests in every which way but loose. He has been sick for some time and has now gone on to join the greatest band of all time...

Rock on Warren, cause we all shall continue rockin to your tunes!!!

I was just pokin' at ya Tom (no not that way). The Strat has it's place in history and many great men have used them. It just ain't the best out there now. At one time it was but not now.

That I should rise and you should not
I'll gently rise and softly call

So much to do, there's plenty on the farm
I'll sleep when I'm dead
Saturday night I like to raise a little harm
I'll sleep when I'm dead

I'm drinking heartbreak motor oil and Bombay gin
I'll sleep when I'm dead
Straight from the bottle, twisted again
I'll sleep when I'm dead

Well, I take this medicine as prescribed
I'll sleep when I'm dead
It don't matter if I get a little tired
I'll sleep when I'm dead

I've got a .38 special up on the shelf
I'll sleep when I'm dead
If I start acting stupid
I'll shoot myself
I'll sleep when I'm dead

So much to do, there's plenty on the farm
I'll sleep when I'm dead
Saturday night I like to raise a little harm
I'll sleep when I'm dead

R.I.P. WZ
I heard that because of his previous addiction(s) and successfully beating them, that WZ refused any and all pain medication (ie. DRUGS) for his incureable cancer in order to "stay sober to the end".

Poor, poor pitiful me

Mama, where's your pretty little girl tonight
Trying to run before she can walk --- that's right
She's growing up
She has a young man waiting
She's growing up
She has a young man waiting

Wide eyes
She'll be street-wise
To the lies
And the jive talk
But she'll find true love
And tenderness on the block

Daddy, don't you ask her when she's coming in
And when she's home don't ask her where she's been
She's going out
She has a young man waiting
She's going out
Can't keep her young man waiting

She'll be okay
Let her have her day
'Cause it's a long way
It's a long walk
She'll find true love
And tenderness on the block

I know how much it hurts to see her go
She has a mind of her own, you know
She's all grown up
She has a young man waiting
She's all grown up
She has a young man waiting

She was wide-eyed
Now she's street-wise
To the lies
And the jive talk
She'll find true love
And tenderness on the block
She'll find true love
And tenderness on the block

Sombody Was WRONG!!!!!!!!!
Last night before bed I aught VH1's program on the last days of WZ and him finishing his last album. I distinctly remember reading in TVguide months ago about WZ's terminal cancer and how he wasn't taking any pain medication for his health due to him wanting to stay straight till the end. WELL, turns out, WZ carried around a bottle of morphine with him and shot up whenever he felt necessary and also had some of "the best pain medication" (pills) as said by one of his collegues. Soooo...I sit corrected (and I think TVguide is eating their words in BIG gulps).

Never cared much for his music. I heard he continued to smoke after being diagnosed with lung cancer. You have to admire him for that.
