Weekend on the water

“Well, I dodged ligtening bolts this weekend!!!

I went to Lake Russell in SC. I begrudgingly went as an obligatory fishing trip with the spouse...we hit the lake at 8am and my attitude soon changed. There was a rowing team practicing near the first cove we pulled into. They were obviously from some place in Europe but I couldn't tell where from. I watched as singles paddled in in kyakes and as many as 3-4 raced passed us. OK...some of you experienced paddlers explain to me why some of them were kinda kneeling on their boats paddling...is this just a way of training or is this the way they race?

BTW...I caught 8 fish and out fished the captain!!! :)~”
