Internet Answering Machine

“This might have been covered before, but nobody seems to care anymore do they? lol, and there's probably a better place to ask this question, but you guys always seem to know the answers to everything.

So, this one is kind of self explanitory, I'm looking for an internet answering machine - is there one that's free, without charge from the phone company or the software? All I'd want is the simplest functions, like disconnect from the internet and answer call, or ignore call and stay connected, I hate missing important calls when i'm online, so what do u guys know?”

“I've never researched them because I like the fact that people can't call me when I'm on the Internet.”

“Simer AOL has one- I havent tried it but now and then AOL offers it.”

“You can get a second line cheaper than the first line. Or if you go DSL you (supposedly) can use both the modem and the phone. I was looking into DSL but they wanted a year long contract and as I'm on the job market, didn't know where I would be in a year.”

“second line, dsl, cable - all sounds good... I'm in college here, every penny I can save helps... there's calls that I really don't want to miss, ie. girls, that's why I'm looking into this.”

“Get a cheap celphone and give that number out to girls.”
