Yes Bangor is on the way, but if you fly into Portland on Thursday, I bet we can pick you up and you can stay at my house. I think Lthiker is driving up Thursday night. Plus Portland is much cheaper than Bangor.

“That's the weekend of the Gathering! Wish I could go hiking in Maine, but not that weekend. We've volunteered to do another workshop in New Hampshire I swore last time was the last time, but they needed a CDT workshop) and besides, I have even more fun at the Gathering than I do hiking, and that's saying a lot. And yes, it will be cold in Maine. It is usually chilly in NH Columbus Day weekend, but very beautiful with the fall color.”

“Um I was thinking about leaving my place around 2-3 on Thursday Portland is about 4 hours form my house. Then Twigs is another hour from there.
Stove check out the Hartford Airport here in CT they have pretty cheap fares in and out of there and it is only 40 minutes from my house and on the way. Just another option. Don't even think about Boston!

“Is this the airport you are talking about, Hartford/Springfield/Windsor Locks, CT (BDL). That airport seems out of the way.
I've have come in to this airport before. Had a biz trip to Waterbury. Pretty area.
Had a spare day and drove down to Mystic Seaport museum to see the old wooden ships. Very cool.

This might be doable. I can get a flight into BDL at 2:10pm. Add time for baggage and it will be about right.

“Lol no problem. BDL is the right airport If you went to Mystic you probably drove right by my house. It is alittle out of the way but not much, we can just hop on 84 to the Mass pike from there.
I am not sure about the return trip on monday it will depend on what time we get out of the woods. We will have to ask Twiggy about that.”

“Either way is fine I can pick you up in Portland also, just fnd a cheap fare at the right time.”

“It's an 8.5 mile hike out on Monday, then it's about a five hour drive to Portland.”

“Ouch that is going to be a late night on monday! Oh Well it will be worth it. SS on that note it might be better for you to fly into Portland then I can get you back to the airport up there at a decent hour. It will be pretty late getting back to CT.”
