Ice Tea crashes at 120mph

“I'm still stunned that a tercel can go anywhere near 120.

I'm not gonna say "don't do anymore stupid stuff" because I know you will. We all did. Just try to survive it, don't hurt anyone and try learn something from the stupid stuff.”

“I'd be carefull on Route 17. That's death alley. I grew up in Mahwah. You might get away with it on the Northway/Thruway thou stupid. You crash in a tercel at that speed & there won't be much left for your folks to identify.”

When all my high school friends scattered for college I felt isolated too but my most durable friendships were formed in college. There are very few people from high school I even know how to reach. Don’t worry, you’ll make plenty of friends in time. I’m a plenty reserved type myself.

You need to learn to deal with stress and frustration better. Much easier said than done. Most schools offer free counseling.

You don’t have to be the president or drive the most expensive car around to feel good about yourself. In fact, material goods never give you lasting happiness. Once the novelty wears off, you’ll only want something better. The guy in the million-dollar house driving the BMW wants a 7 million-dollar house and a Maserati. If you stay fixated on finding happiness through material goods or accomplishments, you’re setting yourself up for a miserable life. If you learn early to find happiness in service to your community and family, you’ll save yourself much pain. The values you learned in Scouting can serve you well if you apply them.

“Hey all...today went much better.

I had one class so I made the best of it. After class I had dinner and hung out w/ a new group. They where headed to an off campus party and I didn't want to go since I wasn't going to ask new friends if I could spend the night at their dorm, and I know better than to drive home #&%!$faced. I felt kinda proud of my self, I just went up and asked, what you doing for dinner and then we took off from there. I think monday will go even better.

Writting that out last night really helped.

Keep this in mind:

Locally here there was a young guy about your age...he was an outstanding citizen, an eagle scout......

well one day with his friends he was rip-roaring along with some friends and wound up blasting into a minivan with a woman and her kids..... the woman died....so now he has to live with that for the rest of his life....

Now I'm not saying that I haven't been where you are now.....but I am saying when it comes the car try to think of possible outcomes and slow it down....don't use the car as an outlet for anger.

Do you have a gym at school? Its amazing how well working out can deal with all the extra hormones that you have going on at your age....its also good for dealing with stress, self confidence, etc....

Trust me...it will only get worse if you don't figure out some plan for dealing with situations like you found yourself in the other day......

Councilors know how to not only tell you why it might happen but can also help you so it doesn’t happen again.
