St. Marys (Baume/HOI?)

“Baume66, HOI, or anyone else...I am planning a trip to St. Mary's soon. Does the Mine Bank Tr. come in above or below the big clearing near the mine area on the St. Mary's Trail?

In other words, if I came in on the Mine Bank Tr, would I turn left or right on the St. Mary's Trail to get to that clearing?”

“turn right. it isn't but 1/4 mile tops from the intersection of the mine bank trail and st. mary's trail to the clearing. the trail was washed completly out last time i was there. but when you hit that section, you are right on the southeast corner of the clearing. there may even be a noticable path that is there now. when are you going?”

“Thanks for the info, Baume. The original plan was to go next weekend, but it looks like plans may change what with the hurricane heading this way and all.”

“Actually there are two big clearings that are near two different mine works on the river trail - there is the one Baume mentioned and then there is a larger clearing about a mile or two to the left as you come down Mine Bank - this larger clearing looks to have been a holding pond during the mining days - there is an embankment around the clearing.”
