The lovely wife and I are going to Brown County in Indiana this October to catch the leaves turning. Has anyone been there? What's a must see?

Nigal,

I've not done any trial work, but you really should plan an afterm-noon and evening for Nashville. Stroll about, take in a gallery or two, pick a restauraunt and have dinner, perhaps take in some music or a play at the theater. Fabulous small town atmosphere/culture.

... please replace "trial" with "trail", as in "I've not had any opportunity to walk any trails in Brown County, but...."

I was in Brown County in the Fall once and the colors were absolutely beautiful.

That was in 1971 and I don't remember enough to help you. I'm sure someone will chime in.

Hey Nige! check this out!

BTW, try some bitter apple spray for that chewing problem you have at home. It's a non-toxic spray that tastes awful. Little honey gets one lick of it and she'll leave the item it's sprayed on alone.

Nigal got a chewing problem?

Geez, I thought "Brown County" was some kinda joke......kinda like a "Code Brown" in a hospital.

Thanks Sass, that's the site I was checking out but wanted to get some feedback as to what is a must see/do. We were torn between going to Machinack Island and Brown County.

I didn't have a chance to call ya'll back Sunday, sorry. I got the Bitter Apple and she does hate it. Sprayed my fingers and stuck 'em in her mouth. She went running for the water bowl. LOL! My big problem is that by the time I find what she's taking a liking to chewing it's too late. I just spray whatever it is down to keep her off it any further. BTW- Can I spray my poor cat down with it? That's Honey's favorite chew toy.

Right now I'm trying to find a room at a nice B & B. Holy crap! Most are booked up and they are ALL jacking prices for the fall.

Thanks for the tips chief!

Oooh Mackinac Island in fall would be great. Horse rides, bike rides, walking tours, fudge, etc.
There's someplace near there that has a nice fall colors drive, too. Tunnel of Trees or something like that. If you're interested, holler and I'll find out more.

Nigal,

If you like art, Nashville Indiana has a great artist community, both living and past. TC Steel State Historic Site is pretty Cool. Historical buildings, paintings interpretive programs and hiking trails. I would put it on my must see list.
