Not the same - I didn't want to step on the legendary toes of the character from LOTR, so I always use a lower case s.

I missed meeting the Strider who stalks the AT by one day, about 15 years ago while walking the AT in the central section of Shenendoah NP. He left an entry in the log at the shelter near Black Rock, the day before I was there. I didn't know he was a food mogul though.”

How I remember the race of men, from days beyond days, when Men were the friends of Elves and there was much learning between the races...Int the land of Hildorien, where men were first awakened, there they knew no language, it was the Dark Elves that befriended the Engwar, "the sickly" they were called, as they were a frail race, that easily succomed to disease and pestilance. they were a short lived race, yet to gain the stature that they were destined for. Once Morgoth learned of the race of men, he went to turn them to his designs, but there were many that fled from him, not harkening to his lies and deciet, these were the nobelest of Men, and were destined for greatness.

It was the Calaquendi, the Noldorin Elves that befriended the noble race of men, those that turned their hearts against Morgoth. From the Noldorin, Men learned great things, and became a great people. The Noldorin called this group of men, the Edain, the "second ones" as Men, were born after Elves. These men, were the noblest of men, to have ever existed and Aragorn (Strider) was a direct decendant of this group.
