Ouch...it hurts like @%$#
Finally went to the emergency room yesterday...sure enough I have a kidney stone in my left kidney. It's not my first and I'm not looking forward to the next few days. A nurse gave me a shot of morphine and after a few minutes she asked" how do you feel?" I replied mmmmmmmmmm stoned? I didn't know how else to describe it...LOL!

My heart goes out to you, WW. I never had them, but several close to me have gone through it and they say you have no idea how it hurts until you do. Speedy recovery.

This too will pass...

Kidney Stoned!
Ouch WindWalker! I hope it passes soon. Isn't there an ultrasound technique that can be used to destroy the stones (ablation?)

Lithotripsy...I had a friend who was prone to stones. He stopped drinking iced tea (makes you an outcast in the South) and started drinking about a gallon of water every day. His doc gave him some Tylenol 4's to take when he started to feel the pain, so he wouldn't be screaming bloody murder by the time he got to the hospital.

Good luck, WW...

Speedy Recovery!
Hope all comes out welll, and soon!

On the lighter side, another remedy I've heard is to drink as much beer as you can so you'll pass the stone...

I've felt your pain.

Gotta drink more water and lay off the shell fish. Hope you pass it as easy as I did.

Don't even want to think about it bit!

WW- If they offer you anesthesia for any procedure, take it.
I declined it for one procedure because they said it could be done without, so I could drive afterwards. Big mistake. They said I might feel a 'little pressure'. Pressure my a$$, when they shoved that tube up into my bladder, I wanted to scream.
Anesthesia is your friend!

And how do they get a tube into your bladder, boys?

Yes, that's right. Up Mr. Happy.

Ow. The thought of it makes me cringe.

Been there done that without
anesthesia. They always leave a stent (sp?) up there and want to go back later and get it.

Been through Lithotripsy (sp?) many times as well.

They seem to think this one might be able to pass....way cheaper but more painful.
