Fundraiser for Violin

“I'm sure you all would, too.

It's become obvious to me that our fellow TT poster, Violin, has some severe chemical / psychological imbalance, and needs professional assistance.

I, for one, don't want to see him continue to suffer, so I'm starting the "Help Violin" fund! 100% of your donations will go the the shrink of his choice!

How did I arrive at this conclusion that we should help him? Well, it seems to me that when one enters into a debate re political / social issues, one maintains a sense of decorum & dignity, professionalism some would say. However, in Violin's case, responses to his idealogical positions are met with responses such as "you're an #&%!$, Wanderer", or, more recently, " Hey eat me wanderer"

Obviously, this individual lacking in some development of his basic human interactions skills, and will not be a role model for other humans he interacts with, including his immediate family. So, in an effort to help all of humanity, let's all help Violin! If we all believe strongly in helping our fellow man, and contribute, we can help him become a real human being, able to function in society and be a contributor, not a detractor, to humanity!

“Let's not forget what started this supposed "Violin / Wanderer" war. It was the way VIOLIN chose to initially respond to me.. hence the reason for me wanting to get him some psychological help. (and, for those of you who are humor-impaired, this was meant originally as a humorous post!).

I thought, and still think, that's an entirely inappropriate way to respond to someone with whom you may disagree.

So... here's my challenge... let's see if we can discuss manners, decorum & common decency when responding to each other on an internet site. What, if anything, do you think is to be gained by name-calling? Why is someone who is aligned with a political party different from yours an "idiot"? Is there no chance that person just looks at things a little differently?

AND, here's the big one, (that is, if you really do give a ^@$# about changing the world for the better):

Do you have a better chance of making things better by WORKING WITH your political opponent, OR, by fighting him, tooth & nail, every bit of the way, and impugning his character along the way JUST BECAUSE s/he views things differently that you do?
