In the other thread I SAID: NO is the new American Defense against Hurricanes...like Mobile Homes attract Tornados, NO attracts Hurricanes...

You know stovie I've heard that New Mexico doesn't get hurricanes and there is a bunch of nice mountians to boot.

I've been watching this puppy since it was called 99L invest coming across the Atlantic. It was below 10 degress latitude and they said it was too low to form. It ran into dry Saharan Desert dust and dry air and they said it wouldn't form. It's running into shear and is being influenced by a upper level low in the Bahamas and they said it wouldn't form. Against all odds this tropical wave is getting it's act together for somebody. Current winds are up to 60 mph and pressure still droppind soon to be sub 1000mb storm. Time will tell. Get that hurricane kit together. I'm going to do a few things this evening and tommrow evening just in case Chris or one of his siblings come for a visit. Won't be doing any boarding until a storm is definite. My danger is mostly water so boarding doesn't do squat anyway. Good luck everybody the next 2 to 3 months could get shaky.

One of the local forecasters said "It looks like Ernesto will be crossing the border later this week." Any bets as to how long until his a$$ is canned?

crossing the border?
Maybe he meant the TX/LA border.

Hope like heck it isn't the LA/MS to MS/AL border. ;-)

well i just checked the tracking of ernie and i guess i had better start getting ready. we always have to evacuate the beach house. we'll go up to our house in largo and stay with surfergirl. we have to go to home depot this afternoon and i guess they will be very busy, i'll let yall know.

It's looks like another "Irene" is coming to visit. After Melbourne, maybe on to Long Island or New England.

Cyndeee, I'll trade you either the green or yellow spaghetti line for your blue one. In fact, I'll give you the two of them.

The weather forecaster on Channel 13 from Orlando this morning in reference to the prediction track said, "We're going to try to change that!" I wonder what the hell he plans to try to change a hurricane! These guys try to take so much credit, if one listens long enough, one will be convinced that these forecasters actually generate the weather. With a straight face these *&$%# can tell you that there is a 60% chance of rain, when it is pouring buckets.

Lol XL, a bunch of the "Harry Potter" actors dropped out of DragonCon (this weekend in Atlanta) for some unknown reason... I mentioned the storm to some obsessed teenager fans on a certain website.

It's the wating for the storm that always gets to me. Whenever it finally arrives, I typically sleep through it. Those darned low pressure systems. Although I'm a little more concerned this time around, as we're about to put our house on the market.
