I am trying to fin some with a sole on them so tey aren't slippery. MH makes a nice air also bu they are heavy. The FF one have a removable epic shell so that you can sleep in them if needed.

were they slippery? Ice Tea had a pair that he had to wrap in plastic bags to keep dry. It was fun watching him slip around all over the place.

yes. because its feathers, they compress real small. but the rubber bottom is a bugger. but they weigh next to nothing and you can squish the heck out of them.

Try Integral Designs Primaloft booties - artificial fill so they don't become damp walking around in the snow.

I second the synthetic booties. The ground is usually wet or snow covered and feet emit lots of moisture. Synthetic will dry easily and down booties will not. I made a pair of Goretex bootie covers and now my booties never get wet now matter what the weather conditions.

I'm going to get those feathered friends booties real soon. I have a feathered friends sleeping bag - it's a great bag.

Yes, they do good work. I've got one of their Volant jackets from 4 or 5 years ago with the PTFE laminate. No complaints!

I have some prehistoric booties around here somewhere... Sierra Designs, I think. The snow down south is usually such a mushy mess, I only use them inside my sleeping bag.

G00SE and I have both added to our Christmas Wishlist now. We both already have down booties but those Feathered Friends booties look perfect. Thanks for the heads up and the link!

This thread title sounds like some smut topic for ducks and geese.

They appear to be highly efficacious and all, but ya know... there are times when I wish I was More colorblind, <G>

What's the matter Tilt? You do want to be able to find them in the snow, don't you?

ENS those are the ones I have, and I guess Pennsy just got some also. I really like them. But I have found that they are not totally waterproof on the soles. Not a problem if it is cold.
I really like the fact that I can take off the outer booty and sleep with the down socks on. I think it makes me sleep warmer

I like synthetic booties. You can count on down to get wet and stay that way. Especially standing around a fire with melting snow on the ground. Some overbooties help even more with moisture.

I have them - the ones I have are all blue. They are very warm. The outer shell has been a problem. It's thin - ripped on the first outing and you slip all over the place because there's no traction on the bottom. Feathered Friends is a good company and has offered to repair the outer shell, but I haven't sent them in to them because I haven't been using them.

The old Sierra Design one's I had were better.

I have two feathered friends sleeping bags that I adore - I probably wouldn't buy a different brand sleeping bag ever, but I won't buy their booties again.
