The Shadow Riders - Tom Selleck and Sam Elliot inspired by a Louis L'Amour story

Na, that is not it. It was a good movie, but not the one that was on recently. Tom was the drifter guy who's friend died and he promised to take care of his wife and ranch in Wyonming. Of cource the evil banker wants the wife and ranch for himself.

It was one of those orginal plots that no one has ever heard of before.

I remember seeing the ads for that movie, but I can't remember the title, remember that it looked like it'd be good, but I never saw it.

I am not going to say it is worth paying money for, but if you catch it on TV, it is worth watching.

I have gotten no feed back on the route. If everyone is happy with it, then I will officially post it as "the route" .

Good news on my end. My wife leaned over my shoulder while looking at my route. I told her the issues of two groups and different hiking styles and then mentioned that I was with the five day group. She looks at me ands says " I did not say you could not go on the 7 day trip, I just wished you would have discussed it with me before you went ahead and planned it". So there you go, I am in the 7 day group and I am a little wiser.

When i told my wife i wanted to go on this trip she gave me her usual reasons why i should not go. She thinks i am unable to enjoy myself away from her? Whatever she now is resigned to the idea.

Wingding, I'll know on Tuesday whether we go to Oregon before or after Wind-o-Rama. Either way, we would be happy to shuttle you one way from Sacto airport if cutting costs would make a difference.

Did everyone find there books? It was difficult reading the book and looking at the map because there are some unknown trails and there are some trails that have different names.

Enjoy the reading and let me know what ideas you have.

For all the mile crunchers like myself, just like I did in the Serrias, I am looking at some off trail routes to campsite since I in the seven day group now. So for those who wanted more then 6 miles, I have a plan.

Trust Big Poppa.

I've got the maps from Earthwalk Press. I STILL haven't plotted the newest route but they seem to be good. I've only had trouble with some trails missing (?) on one proposed route so far. And there have been many. There is a North and a South map. Check Latta Outdoors.

The earthwalk press maps are excellent for an overview, although they don't show some trails and routes, the Kelsey book has the more obscure routes and trails in it, including basic maps. The falcon guide has more info on the main trails. So I'd use all three of those resources when looking things over.

Thursday in the 15th and I said I would post the route on the 15th. I have not gotten any feedback on the route so I am assuming that everyone is happy.

I feel it offers a lot of opportunity for everyone. We get to see a lot of the park. If there are any changes, email me. If not, the official route will be posted tomorrow.

A English Magazine wrote aboute a route and if you followed it, it would lead you over a cliff. There's a editor that follows up on all the facts of his writers.

Ah. You weren't planning to that, BigPoppa? I seem to recall we were going to take a trackless trek over the Continental Divide. When I looked, it seemed like we might be obliged to slide down one of those many glaciers, but no cliffs.

That route did look like a lot of fun. If I could have found any kind of reference to any kind of trail, I would have mapped that.

Well at the very least, it would have made a great picture.
