If anyone is interested in going, here's the information on a group site I reserved:

Park Name : Joshua Tree National Park
Campground Name : Sheep Pass Group 4
Check in : 12:00 PM on 11/07/2003
Check Out : 12:00 PM on 11/09/2003

There are lots of options for day hiking in Joshua Tree, and the weather should be nice in November.

Email me if interested in this group camping trip.

Anyone gonna be there nov 2 or 3. I am taking a trip out to Phoenix, down to tombstone, over to Joshua tree, up to death vally, over to Vegas. over to Grand Canyon and back to Phoenix on the 6th. I have 10 states left that I havn't been in . This will get me 3 of those. I want to see all 50 states someday. Anyone from the area wanna be my wife and I for supper somewhere along the way. I'd like to meet some western TTers.

wingding - Sheep Pass is one of my favorite group camping spots. However, I will out-of-state that weekend for a reunion.

I would love to go and try out my new tent trailer, but it will have to be another time.

Joshua Tree brings back many good memories. The desert stole a part of my youth.

hey BAMA, are you planning on any stops along the way from Phoenix to Tombstone? you'll pass some nice places. Kartchner Caverns State Park is very impressive, a huge living cave that offers a walking tour. i think they've just opened up another room on the tour, which means i have to go back & visit again. darn! Tombstone won't take you too long - you'll miss Helldorado Days, which i've always wanted to go to. you should try to visit Bisbee, which is about an hour south of Tombstone, in the Mule Mountains. it's a very cool old mining town, and you can tour the Copper Queen Mine. i used to live in St. David, about 15 miles north of Tombstone. i love that whole area.

start a thread about your visit to S. cali - you might be able to scare up some TT-ers for dinner or something.

BAMA. let us know when you are out here. It would be great to meet some more TT'ers.

Send me an email to wld257@aol.com and I will send you my phone number. Maybe a group of us can hook up. If it can be arranged.

Looking forward to trekking across an alluvial fan, scrambling over moon rocks, and tanglin' with the tumbleweeds.

I am not sure which peak to go for. Last time was Pinto Peak. Hopefully some of you JT veterans can suggest a good peak.

There are about 20 people signed up, so it should be a good trip. I'm thinking about adding a second site for Saturday night.

The high desert seems to conjure up this idea of a parched and cracked desert floor with a white washed skull in the foreground. It's hot out there.

Of course, there's that slight desert breeze that picks up that brush and blows it across your view. A lizard scurries away and you hear a coyote howl in the distance.

Then there's the high country. Ah, the pull it has on your soul.

On the other-hand, one site will probably be enough.

Nice visuals Tekdude.
