Sounds bogus “Hello everybody. I have 2 free Yahoo! accounts and I have received billing information on consecutive days from Yahoo!. asking for credit card numbers with pin #'S Looks very real...but my account is with Yahoo! not Yahoo!. The yahoo is in bold red on bot cases, but the one I suspect is bogus has a period after it. I am also suspicious because they are both free accounts and they are asking for credit card #'s and pin #'s. They are also saying my account will be deactivated in 5 days if I don't forward the info. What ever happened to a month's notice? When I clicked on the link to give them info this morning, the page can not be found. I guess the cyber cops are catching up with them. Anyone seen this?” 7:02:33 AM 9/28/03 “I haven't seen it, but I've heard about things like it. You could file a complaint with the FTC at https://rn.ftc.gov/pls/dod/wsolcq$.startup?Z_ORG_CODE=PU01 Or... simply forward the email (with full header info) to UCE@FTC.GOV” 7:33:52 AM 9/28/03 “That sounds like a scam. Report it immediately.” 8:21:54 AM 9/28/03 They are at it again “This time it is my e-bay account. Only thing is, I don't believe I have ever had an e-bay account. They are asking for SS# credit card # and the numbers on the back of the credit cards..... What's really sad is that someone will think it's real and it will really cost them....” 5:57:50 PM 10/02/03
