I've done the shimmy thing on logs lots of times and even crawled across a bridge before. I get vertigo, and I hug rocks and trees quite often. How I get there doesn't matter.

“Okay to set the record straight, I "guesstimated" my shin length and when I saw all the feedback I broke out the ruler- 16" from floor to mid knee-cap. My actual shin from ankle to knee is 13"!
Now about the footware. They were "hawaiian rubbers" (looked like leather) slip ons, not suitable for water crossing. Since then I have purchased two pair of waldies AND a pair of tevas which will be much better suited for such. Even if I had them at the time, I would not have chanced it.
