Flu Shots
Remember these?

Inflamed aching joints
shivering cold sweats
shuddering cold spasms
Can't sleep
Did I get a flu shot? On No.

I know I got the flu from the clerk at the package store. Punishment cause I don't usually drink. Not lately anyway.

interesting...for what it's worth
Flu Shot Season: Think Twice Before you Get It!

According to Hugh Fudenberg, MD, the world's leading
immunogeneticist and 13th most quoted biologist of our times
(nearly 850 papers in peer review journals), if an individual has
had five consecutive flu shots his/her chances of getting
Alzheimer's Disease is ten times higher than if they had one,
two or no shots. Dr. Fudenberg was asked why this was so
and he said it was due to the mercury and aluminum that is in
every flu shot (and some childhood shots). The gradual
mercury and aluminum buildup in the brain causes cognitive
dysfunction.

According to a 1998 Newsletter from John Hopkins, Alzheimer
rates are estimated to quadruple.

Notes: Recorded from Dr. Fudenberg's speech at the NVIC
International Vaccine Conference, Arlington, VA September,
1997. Quoted with permission. Alzheimer's to quadruple
statement is from John's Hopkins Newsletter Nov 1998.

Dr. Fudenberg's web address is http://www.nitrf.org
Interesting info on treating autism on the site. Randall
Neustaedter OMD author of The Vaccine Guide says this:

"The flu vaccine gets the most-useless-vaccine-of-all-time
award. Now the CDC is recommending the vaccine for children
under two years old and all adults over 50. Don't fall for it."

Flu Facts

* Flu vaccine manufacturers are notoriously inaccurate at
predicting the appropriate viruses to use in an individual year's
vaccine, rendering the vaccine ineffective.

* Flu vaccine is relatively ineffective in those patients most at
risk of flu complications.

* The vaccine has caused GBS in recipients during several
different flu seasons. (Guillaume Barre Syndrome)

* Those most at risk of flu complications probably share a
higher risk of adverse reactions to the flu vaccine as well.

Fluzone is the new flu vaccine for babies (recommended 6
months to 23 months in the US). You can get it as a 0.25 mL
prefilled syringe (for pediatric use) and as a 0.5 mL prefilled
syringe. Fluzone contains mercury: 25 µg mercury/0.5 mL
dose. It also has chicken embryos and formaldehyde and
Sucrose, Sodium phosphate, Sodium Chloride, Mercury,
Gelatin, Polyethylene Glycol p-Isooctylphenyl Ether,
Hemaggluttinin. Package insert at:

SUMMARY:
==========

The best way to avoid the flu, as well as other immune breakdown
symptoms, such as colds, respiratory illness, etc., is to make
sure your immune system is in top-notch condition. How do you
do this? You do your BIA (urine/saliva test) at least once per
month to make sure your Metabolism Efficiency (EM) is above
55% and your Immune Energy (ER) is above 65%. Ideally, you
should test yourself weekly.

These are minimal acceptable levels. Your first goal should be
to have an EM and ER of 75%+.

If you don't know of a BIA Practitioner near you, contact us
and we may be able to help you find one. As a last resort, you
can do the test via overnight FEDEX.

Sure, the person has aged five years, if still living.
The flu vaccine gets the most-useless-vaccine-of-all-time

Exposed to the public as a bagger in a supermarket, I caught the flu every year. That is, until I started getting flue shots. I have not had the flu since starting the shots about five or six years ago.

My memory has never been too good, anyway.

BIA, EM, ER are all new to me. Test myself weekly! What do I do if I fail a test? For my part, "The best way to avoid the flu" is to get a flu shot and to avoid the public as much as possible.

I guess it's OK to not get it if everyone's immune system could be top notch, but that isn't the case for everyone. People can have immune disfunction for a variety of reasons ranging from drugs, low blood counts, radiation, chemotherapy, inherited disease, ect. Flu in these patients will be more serious so even if it gives you a somewhat better chance to fight it it may be worth the risk. I'm skeptical of anyone claiming that one thing is best for everyone. Things like this should be discussed with your doctor to decide what's best for you in your present state of health.
Year's ago margarine was supposed to be better than butter and now they say margarine is worse. Recently it was the lexan bottles. Months ago, teflon pans were supposed to cause illness. When I hear about people dropping dead in front of the stove I'll take notice, until then far worse things will make people sick.

I have heard where the overvaccination of children can be the cause of altism, especially if they are sick at the time of the shot and their immune system is down. The mercury that is found in alot of the preventative shots can put children at the risk of altism. The rate of altism keeps increasing as we keep overvaccinating.

Time to bring it back....is anyone getting or not getting flu shots ( I am guessing it is one or the other). I have taken flu shots once...they worked and I got sick.

Any advice or opinion?

I still get sick when I get flu shots, just not as bad. There's a holdup on kids' shots around here for some reason. I'll take Laurel in for hers and get mine too, probably next week.

I won't be getting one. It's not worth it to me. I get the flu maybe once every 3 or 4 years and then only have it for about a day.

I can't do much zinc stuff. I get mouth ulcerations like mad if I do. One dose of a zinc lozenge left me with a hole in my tongue. Now zinc tablets, on the other hand, I can handle.

HMM...jsut last week they opened the steam room/Dry sauna at the gym! Man that works great when the flu strikes. Of course I also pretty much refuse antibiotics unless I am on my deathbed. Need that natural immunity.

There's basically no way I'd ever get a shot unless it was practically life-or-death...and no one's ever died from the flu. ;-)

Just jokes, but I wouldn't for the same reasons as Lumberzac, plus serious needlephobia. I hardly ever get the flu, although I did last year...only lasted a couple days, and anyway it's a quick weight-loss solution. LOL! I believe I'd rather go through that, than have the anxiety over a needle, and pass out at the sight of it...esp. since I probably won't get the flu anyway.

Never get 'em; never get the flu but once every 4 years or so. I'm in the age group where it's highly recommended, but other than this back problem (which will be surgically corrected in 3 days), I am very healthy.

I have gotten them the last 8 or ten years I think. Can't remember. I have only been sick once in all that time. I would get 5 a year if it keeps me from puking. One of the girls in my office is petrified of needles and won't get one she is sick all winter.

The funny thing is, I can remember getting some of my first shots as a toddler (I have a crazy powerful memory), and I liked to watch! My mom had to cover her eyes, and the nurses expected me to cry, but I was just chilling out. Now I'd cry for my mommy, for sure! haha.

Flu shots work for me!

I got one for the first time ever this year. My shoulder hurt for a few days but no sickness from the shot.

I normally wouldn't but I work with some cancer patients, and quite a few elderly folks. It wouldn't be nice for me to pass the flu on to them. The rest of the family relys on their immune systems.

If I'm not mistaken, the "flu shot" is to address actual "influenza," which is the aching, coughing, snotting, down-for-a-week kind of flu, not the "stomach flu," which is technically not an actual "flu." So getting a flu shot will not keep you from getting a stomach virus and puking your guts out.

Also, I think they stopped using the kind of vaccine with an active component several years ago. With the old kind, you had a pretty fair chance of coming down with the virus. Now, they don't use that kind (I think), so any sickness you get afterward is purely coincidental.

One thing that I don't believe about the flu shot is doctors' insistence that it will only protect you from the one specific influenza virus for which it is created. I know lots and lots of people who insist that they get fewer viruses of any kind in years when they get the shot - as if it somehow kick starts your immune system. Don't know if any studies have been done about that....
