Best DVD Rentals

“i give the grudge a negative 8...puke...the ring was bad @ss...i think they just gave up after making it and thought they didn't have to put anything into their future movies, they think they can just ride the coat tails for the ring...same thing for the ring 2 and dark water...no were near as good as the first ring”

“I know what you mean - when cable went up to $50/month not too long ago, I quit that and started looking for a DVD place. I'm terrible at returning movies to the video store. I hate making monthly bills, so when I found the $99 deal, I took it. BTW - it's actually around $104 because they tack on tax.

“Nigel - wow - we ended up with the same movies! I had a very hard time with "Layer Cake". What language were they speaking? I hate to be provincial but when I only understand one word out of 25 I have a hard time following a story. Come to think of it, I had the same problem with "Lock, Stock...".

A great independent film about a guy who gets revenge for his wife's rape. Most of the movie is just two guys in a house but I is very suspenseful and well acted.”

I got my mother hooked on checking out English shows because she liked that one so much. I saw a fab French movie the other day. It's by this Polish named guy who did a series (in order)
movie titles:
Blue
White
Red

I saw Blue and got out of sync by seeing Red (ha ha) next. I don't necessarily think it's necessary to see them in order, but Red has all the characters from the 3 movies in it at the end. Like I said, not that big o deal. But I loved Red. Fab movie with an interesting plot that sort of unfolds and comes together at the end. Plus a very likable heroine.”

This a great! I had three DVDs due to arrive the Mon of the hurricane and one due a couple of days later. None came due to no mail and Netflix hasn't said anything about them. I hope the PO returned them to Netflix. What a great company!

Another reason this is so great is I no longer have a DVD player. Both my DVD Recorder and Player when under salt water in the hurricane storm surge.”

I love Monty Python-- both the short skits and the movies. It's the absolute in silliness... :-) Plus, some of the humor is very cerebral at times... :-)

My favorite is the Holy Grail. I think it's because I've always been a great fan of the Arthurian legends and have read (and seen) lots of different versions about King Arthur and the Knights of the round table... (By the way, the extended anniversary DVD has a Lego-version of the Camelot song that's absolutely hilarious.)

Yes, it's silly, but for some reason, it tickles my funny bone...

(One Arthurian movie I absolutely didn't like was First Night--I didn't like the casting of Richard Gere as Lancelot at all (way too wimpy!) ) I started watching "Arthur" and will have to give an opinion on that later.”
