"He trained himself to actually be able to do this, putting himself in a very small group of people worldwide who have this skill.”

I can and have done it. The story is a pretty good one and one that costs ya a 6 pack before I'll tell it.

FrankeNigal, you've got a good eye for suave leading male types. I didn't see the Transporter movies, but I know who you are talking about. I saw him in other movies and he's really good.

Yeah, Slater did get axed pretty quickly. Maybe he was bad on the set, so they cut his part. He is a kind of wild charactor in real life.

I meant to comment on Jane Fonda's plastic surgery - the skin on her face is pulled so tight it looks like it might snap.

Nig, the Dogtown documentary is quite good. Haven't seen the Lords of Dogtown yet.

I watched Me and You and Everyone We Know last night. It's sort of sick in some ways, but otherwise very good. The story, the acting, the direction all excellent. It was touching, sweet and funny. I loved it. I'd give it a 9/9.5

I quit Prozac Nation about halfway through last night...perhaps another time when I haven't just gotten home from my dad's where the tv and the furnace are on full blast, and I'm trying to explain his new cell phone to him. Sweating and screaming over the tv while repeating a hundred times - the button on the left! left! LEFT!
Enuff to drive me to take Prozac, LOL...

i have never read the lord of the rings books, but i was watching one of the dvds this week. dominic monahan said that he thought the story was really about the environment and the protection of it. i do not really know the story, but i would have to agree with him. the land was so clean and pretty where they were. and when it was ruined, the trees got angry and got rid of the people who had ruined it

i think it really showed that our country is ruining the environment. i only wish the trees could speak and tell us how bad they are being hurt

i don't care about the trees too much but i hate those movies because of all the horseys taht got killed making them. they are all evil people because they ate the horseys when they died instead of igving them a good burial.

I watched one called 11:14 last night. The whole movie spans something like 20 minutes 10:56-11:14. It shows all the people in the movie and what they did during that time frame and it slowly draws the points together. It has Tom Hank's son in it and Patrick Swayze, and Hillary Swank. It was very interesting.

I also watched High Tension (uncut). WOW! This movie is French so I knew it was going to be something different but dayum! This movie put most every American horror flick to shame. It was very, very brutal. No slick Hollywood scare tactics and fancy camera shots. Just straight forward gore and brutality. My wife had to watch something else before going to bed it freaked her out so bad.

Batman (yawn) Begins...i gotta say it was better than the other batmans(or would that be batmen??, hmmm a quandary) but it was still full of clichés and cheesy lines...plus i wanted to puke every time i saw Katie Holmes...does anyone else think she looks like she has down syndrome?

Katie Holmes...
Other than her taste in men....she's pretty cute.

I guess you can call Katie Holmes cute, but she is no great beauty, but no one says Cruise has to go for a girl with model type looks since he is so famous and rich. I think his ex wife Nicole Kidman is so much prettier.

The big question, is this a test tube baby? She's brainless, becoming a Scientologist because he is. You know he made her become one or there would be no relationship. Now I'd like to see if she goes through post partem depression and he lets her kill herself and/or their child because he doesn't believe in medication for it. He's such an @sshole, but he can afford to "dis" people with mental problems since he is so rich now. I was never crazy about him anyway.

I thought Batman Begins was not only one of the best super hero movies of all time, but an excellent movie in it's own right.

It's the only movie I've even seen twice in the theatre.

bunny, I can't come to conclusions unless I see pictures first, got any, lol:)

I can't look at Ricky Martin the same way since he "came out". He sings those songs to and about women and they seem meaningless coming from him. If he really wanted to be famous, he should be the first guy to compose and/or sing a song involving a man's love for another man! It may not be well recieved by the general public, but it would put his name on the map.

Saw "Wedding Date". I believe that's the name of the one with Debra Messing. It was good, better than expected. I saw "P.S." with Laura Linney (great actress). It was okay.

I currently have out "Upside of Anger", "Off The Map" and "The Door in the Floor".

The reason I have so many videos out not counting my husband's is because a new Hollywood Video opened and is offering any movie, up to 8 at a time for $1. a piece.

I have "Winter Solistice" and "Saving Face" lined up as my next rentals. After that, I'd only be wasting my $1 to try and find something I haven't seen or is even worth a dollar. I think the movies I chose are worth the full rental so far if I had to pay $4.19 tax included which is the full fee.

My grocery store rents out videos for $1 during the week, but the videos are very limited.

I'd like to take this time to thank you all for participating in this thread. I just signed up for Intelliflix and have been trying to figure out what to put in my queue. I usually am interested in a particular movie when they promote it when it is first released to theaters. But the time I get around to renting it, I have forgotten which ones I like. With your recommendations, I have a queue now that is 40 titles long. Keep 'em coming.
