Crash, I suppose you also watch grass grow. If so, come to WA, because we are still mowing our lawns like crazy. Mine stays green all winter. You'd be highly entertained, lol:)

This is the synopsis from the box:

Babette's Feast, Academy Award winner Best Foreign Language Film - 1987

"Now from the celebrated storyteller Isak Dinesen (Out of Africa) comes this delicious tale of Babette, a superb French chef living an anonymous life among a pious congregation on the desolate coast of Denmark. As housekeeper and cook to two elderly, religious women, she's never called upon to prepare anything more exciting than the traditional boiled codfish and ale-bread soup. Until one day she wins 10,000 francs and decides to spend it all by creating the most memorable, mouth-watering, magnificanet meal ever consumed -- even though her guests, the simple villagers, will have no idea what they're eating.

Treat yourself to this wry, critically acclaimed look at life, pleasure and artistic passion. And eat, drink and be merry as this wonderful feast of a film unfolds.

Rated G"

Lost
We took out a few episodes of "Lost" from the video store on Thanksgiving, but I was cooking so I didn't really see it, but it just looked like a fake "Survivor" series.

I read the Spanish gal in the show got bagged for drunken driving twice and did a hit and run. If the series is coming back, she may be not be.

"I read the Spanish gal in the show got bagged for drunken driving twice and did a hit and run. If the series is coming back, she may be not be.”

No. She got pulled over for drunk driving, within 20 minutes of another actress on Lost on the same road. (I'm thinking they were out together.) Yes, she's gotten a DUI before. But no, she did not hit anyone!

Did not care for Babette. For Foreign films of that era the best was My Life as a Dog.

We just bought all the classic stop animation xmas movies, A Christmas Story, Frankenstein (Mel Brooks), Blazing Saddles, some Absolutely Fabulous, and Flying Circus.

Next I think we need some Kids in the Hall.

All this talk of foreign films makes me want to see more. I remembered seeing a movie years ago that I liked, "Tie Me Up! Tie Me Down!" So I just went and put it in my queu. Lo and behold, Antonio Banderas starred in it, but back in 1990 I didn't even know who he was.

That's a great flick! The director/cast/film is either Brazillian or Argentinian.

The same director did "Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown".

Ewker, derailed was very good! I can almost guarantee you will like it. Jennifer Aniston and Clive Owen were so believable, you forgot you were watching a movie.

Pixie, this is the article from imdb.com on the actress from "Lost":

Rodriguez in Serious Legal Trouble?

Actress Michelle Rodriguez's alleged drunk-driving rap on Hawaii could land her with a huge Christmas headache - if prosecutors can prove she has violated the terms of her probation from another driving under the influence offence in June 2004. The SWAT star was arrested on suspicion of DUI after police stopped her after reportedly spotting her car weaving along a freeway near Honolulu, Hawaii, on Wednesday. Rodriguez faces a driver's license revocation hearing on December 29, but that could be the least of her worries if Los Angeles police decide she has violated her probation. Entertainment news website TMZ.com has unearthed the probation details stemming from two separate incidents, involving drink-driving and hit-and-run. Rodriguez was placed on probation for three years and she was specifically advised not to drink and drive. If the Los Angeles City Attorney believes Rodriguez drove drunk in Hawaii, the office could initiate a probation revocation hearing and she could face the maximum penalty on each of the three charges. Each charge carries a maximum of six months in jail.
