how do you like Netflix by the way? Is it a good deal?

pink, for me it's just OK.
The turnaround time is different for how far your home is from a Netflix Distribution Center.
My turnaround time is about a week from the time I mail one back and then get it's replacement back.

Since I can have three in play at a time, it's not too bad.

I love Netfilx. We save half by using them. They have all the movies from other countries and all the tv shows. They even have porn but I don't use that.

Netflix doesn't have porn.
They have some UR (unrated) DVDs but not porn.

From the Netflix site:
Q: What kind of movies do you carry?
A: Netflix carries virtually all DVD titles available, except adult titles.
We have hundreds of genres and sub-genres, including action, drama, comedy, as well as special-interest, foreign, documentary, and independent work. New titles are added every day.

I just rented out The Island and Cinderella Man. My review will be forthcoming. I suspect Cinderella Man will be excellent. I'm partial to Russell Crowe. He's got an anger mangement problem, but he's a great actor. I think I'll save that one for during the week on one of the cold days were having lately (38 is really cold for where I live).

I watched Cinderella Man. It was fantastic and I higly recommend it! Every fight had you on the edge of your seat cheering Braddock on. They were very realistic, not the type where a guy gets hit a bunch of times and never goes down.

It should have been best picture and Russell Crowe should have gotten best actor. He had to get rid of his Aussie accent for the role and was fantastic.

If anyone rents the seven DVDs of the first season of Lost, forget disk number 7.
Just some lame crap on this disk. Interviews, outtakes, ect.

I knew that dude was a goner when he first showed up on the show. Most all 'new' folks that appear in the middle of a series allways get killed.
I wasn't suprised when he blew up.

I was in a really goofy mood the other day while watching the movie Kicking And Screaming with Will Ferrell and I laughed so hard so many times I kept spitting up my drink. So did my wife. We had to clean the carpet after that one. It was just one of those times where you get the right movie for the right mood. If I saw it again I don't know if it would have the same affect, but it sure cracked me up! Maybe because my 10-year old stepson plays on soccer teams and I saw a lot of parallels.

That was hillarious! My wife has jumped into the middle of the second season as they come on tv but I refuse. I want to see season two from the start. Drives her nuts when she wants to talk about what's going on and I just shake my hands at her and yell, "AAAAAAGH!!! Don't wanna hear it!".

I'm going to try and wait till season two is on DVD. I already have it in my Netflix Queqe. Who knows how long I'll have to wait.

I love being able to watch it with out those commercels.

What was that movie from last year with Billy Bob Thorton, "Bad Santa"? That was so funny, even though he said the word "F" constantly, it was just him being him and you didn't expect anything different as the movie progressed. It was very unique and unusual.

The best part of Bad Santa was in the extras when the security guard asked if he was sneeking anything down his pants and he replies, "The only thing I got in my pants is something to cripple your sister with.".

Nigal, extras? Do you mean like out takes? Geez, I should start watching them. I never look at anything on the dvd except the movie.

"Cripple your sister", that is so funny!!!! That's part of what makes this movie a riot and so different than any other movie.

Had to use the search feature to find this thread, so I couldn't find the end where people posted their most recent favorite dvds.

I need a movie or two for the holiday weekend. I guess I'll get War of The Worlds since it had a decent rating, but does anyone have any other suggestions. When this posts, I'll be able to go back and see what everyone's been rentiing.

How's about Four Brothers? Anyone seen that? I see all the good movies in theaters, so I'm at a loss.

War of the Worlds sucks. If you agree at all with Roger Ebert, he didn't like it either.

Ruby, Babette's Feast was such a wonderful movie. I felt so warm and fuzzy watching it. Thank you for the recommendation. I particularly liked that one of the champagnes at the feast was my beloved Veuve Clichot. Mmm, "orange juice."

Oh, and I watched "Belle Epoque" a Spanish movie about some dude who keeps falling in love with these 4 sisters. Stupid. Although it was prettily filmed with cool scenery and sets (which I believe were real buildings) etc. Makes me interested in visiting Spain...

Still, it was nice the way they allowed Burt to be in this version.

Now that I was able to go back and check out some of everyone's picks, I've seen most of them. I was considering The 40 Year Old Virgin.

Stove, I never knew there was another version of Bad Santa. It's hard to believe it could be more bad in a good way than it was.

It just kills me how they spend millions to make a movie and most of them are duds.

Then there's "Must Love Dog's" which got a fair review, so I'm not sure about that one.
