Sucks, that disk two wouldn't work in your players.
I'll have my 'friend' check it out and maybe try burning a new disk.

I saw probably the most disturbing comedy last night on HBO. It’s called 8 ½ Women. It’s billed as a dark comedy but I don’t even know what I’d call it. This guy’s mom dies so he goes home and somehow ends up sleeping with his dad. Then on a trip to Japan they bring this gay kabuki dancer home with them. Then while driving down the road they cause this Saudi woman to fall off a horse and injure her so the dad asks her to come live with them. She says ok but says that she has a pig she loves very much in ways that some would say was wrong and she refuses to break it off with the pig. So the woman and her pig join the family. Then they add a woman who is addicted to having babies and agrees to live with them if they keep her pregers and barefoot.

Looking back I can’t believe I watched it that far before turning the channel.

Nigal, that movie sounds like the strangest thing I've ever heard. I think once you see how stange it is, you want to see how much farther they will go. Also, it's like watching a car accident where you can't look away.

We watched Batman Begins last night. I enjoyed it. Getting the background was pretty neat. I haven't seen the previous 1 or 2 Batman movies.

One thing that struck me is how much he looked like Michael Keeton when in costume, especially when the cop handed him the joker card.

Yah, we rented Batman Begins over the holidays. I thought it was pretty good too.

Also rented Fantastic Four for the kids, but I watched it as well. I thought it was reasonbly well done, but I'm sure that fans of the comic book probably hate it, lol...

Hey Stove. I watched Down From The Mountain. Really enjoyed it.

I was with my young cousin recently so I got to watch The Perfect Man (blech) and Racing Stripes (cute).

I also recently watched the new Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. I wasn't sure I'd like it cause I really love Wilder as Wonka. But, this version was truer to the novel than the Gene Wilder version and Depp was a very quirky and interesting version of Wonka. Two thumbs up.

lyra- its funny you say that coz i have talked with quite a few ppl that have said that very same thing. tho when asked soon after the movie came out in theaters Depp insisted that jackson was not part of his characters personality

i think he was doing a creepy jackson too!

Really? It surprises me he said he wasn't trying to do that! There were a few lines where I could've sworn he was making fun of Jackson.

thrifty, I didn't see the Bobby Darin movie, but it did get some good reviews. I will see it eventually, because Kevin Spacey is a great actor and I loved Bobby Darin, though he was a bit before my time, I always watched older movies, then I liked Sandra Dee also.

This is the link to imdb.com where they rate the movie along with a very long viewer review that gave it a good review:

thrifty, I watch old movies. If my husband sees black and white on tv, he won't watch the movie. At least if it's in color, he may get lured in a little bit if he's not aware the people are wearing really outdated clothing, lol:)

There's a young guy who's the new crooner called Michael Buble with an accent over the "e". He sings some Sinatra and Dean Martin songs. He's becoming pretty popular.

I love Dean and Frank. I was so sad when Dean Martin died. He really went downhill when his son died while piloting a plane when he was in the airforce. He never got over it. Did you know that Dean Martin had a nose job? He had one of those what I will call "Roman" type noses. It made one hell of a difference.

You were right Nigal, Saved! was super-good!! I also rented Devil's Playground, a documentary about Amish kids and the tradition of "rumspringa," when they turn 16 and get to do "normal" teenager stuff, and then decide whether to be baptised in the Amish church or not. It was cool, I didn't know about any of that stuff before.

thrifty, I think with Harry Connick jr. getting a part on the Will & Grace tv show, he may have been concentrating on that and not his music. I don't know if he's still on the show, but it would have been good for him to keep his iron in the fire as far as singing, because a person can get cold where it's hard to revive their career.

I think Jay Leno still does stand up all the time to keep his stand up career going and now Conan O'Brian will be taking over his job, it served Jay well to keep his stand up career intact. Jay is also tight with money, so I think his huge salary on the Tonight Show is not enough for him (?).

Well I'd be happy to watch documentaries about moose at your house, twiggy!! It seems like that's the only way I'm ever going to see one. I figured when I moved to VT, I'd see like a million of them alla sudden...but NO. Haha!!

My fave documentaries are social/cultural ones. But Born Into Brothels sounds too sad! My absolute favorite one ever is Fast, Cheap & Out of Control...it rocks.
