Molly Hunter was smokin' hot in that one . Very stupid movie but, dang, she was hot and naked! LOL!

That'd be Holly Hunter.

Nigal, please, not Holly Hunter. I can't take her accent, which at first I thought was a speech impetament, lol:) She slurs some words like "Dear Abbey" used to when she was alive and it was also her accent.

Oh noooooo.... I love Holly Hunter and her cute accent.

I watched Wedding Dress last night. It's a story about the journey a particular wedding dress takes through various people's lives. All their stories intertwine eventually. Makes for an interesting movie. Some of it is predictable, but all in all, a pleasant way to spend a couple hours. No awful sadness or drippy sappiness. I'm not sure what genre I would put classify it as it's not exactly a romance, but that seems to be the most apt description. I recommend it.

LOVED that movie, arclite. My buddy and I went to see it in high school. We thought we were so erudite and intellectual compared to our peers who preferred scary movies and other drivel.

I just don't get it. There must be two actresses named Holly Hunter!

Anyone a Meg Ryan fan? She looked like Sh$t on Ophra. Her hair was oily looking and hung in front of her face like a limp dish rag. Maybe she turned down Ophra's staff fixing her hairdo before she came out.

Otherwise, she still didn't look good. She has seen better days. She took time off to disappear after all of her publicity when she divorced the adorable Dennis Quaid and dated Russell Crowe. She said Crowe didn't break up her marriage, but also didn't say she was dating him while still married and behind her husband's back. Well, I think Crowe dumped her to go back with his old flame and that may be the real reason she got out of the spotlight, so she could have a melt down.

Yea, she looked liked she had some work done on her face and they didn't do a very good job. Too bad. I always thought she had a very youthful looking face, kind of like Sally Fields.

I own that movie, Ruby. But I also sometimes enjoy scary movies and other drivel...

...except for Alien 3000.

Some favorite comedies:
Arsenic and Old Lace (own it)
Dr. Strangelove (own it)
Grosse Pointe Blank (own it)

I saw two movies this weekend.
One was Two for the Money staring Al Pacino and Matthew McConaughey.
This movie should get an award for it's implausible plot which was exceeded only by it's predicability.

The other was Lord of War staring Nicolas Cage.
I was expecting a black comedy and was treated to a black, depressing movie.

Avoid both of these if you any kind of life.

BETA vs VHS again?
A little off topic...

Two dvd player manufacturers...Toshiba and Sony are duking it out. They both have came out with HD dvd players, but their dvd's are not comparable with each other. So if you buy one brand you are stuck with their HD dvd's.

They had a "sit down" to try to remedy the problem....but in the end both parties walked out of the boardroom.

I thought the opening sequence of Lord of War should have gotten an award. The whole sequence was the birth and end of a single bullet from the mold, to the casing, to the box, to the case, to the air plane, to the landing field, to the magazine, to the Somalia kid’s forehead.

I watched walk the line. I didn’t catch most of the dialogue as I was transfixed by Reese’s beauty.

Lord of War was different.
Reminded me a lot of the old 60s poster:
War is bad for children and other living things.
I found it a litle preachy, but still entertaining and it does shock you into thinking.
I expected it to just be another Bash-Bush movie, but it wasn't. Most of the time period of the movie was in the Clinton years.

I have to give North Country the worst video in a long time, but I liked the ending. This is a fictional account of a historic harrassment law suit that basically makes all men look like crap. Like a lot of movies instead of telling the story they, just put up one unbelieveable scene after another. Awful.

Of course what really sucked is that I was out on a first date and after dinner she pops this in the DVD, because I had already seen 'The Terminal.' A real boner stopper.

I try to avoid the “based on a true story” type of movies all together. There is very little truth in them. Take Munich as a perfect example.

"Hyway likes the skinnies, don't ya Hyway?"

Have you ever read the book? The book, while a bit more confusing simply because the research was so exhaustive and complete, is better. And if ya like this movie/book get his other book Killing Pablo. It's all about Pablo Escobar’s rise, fall and death. And again, completely exhaustive in it's completeness.

Nigal, the opening was good, then he stands there and says, "There are so many guns that one out of twelve people in the world have one. Now how do we get the other eleven?"
So you see why I was let down expecting a black COMEDY.

Stove, the only politics I got from if is that all Parties are they same. BTW, problems in Africa - still going on today.

I wasn't too impressed with Lord of War either....to me it just didn't seem to go anywhere. I do agree with Nigal though: the opening credits running through the life of a bullet was some great stuff.

"And I said, I don't care if they lay me off either, because I told, I told Bill that if they move my desk one more time, then, then I'm, I'm quitting, I'm going to quit. And, and I told Don too, because they've moved my desk four times already this year, and I used to be over by the window, and I could see the squirrels, and they were merry, but then, they switched from the Swingline to the Boston stapler, but I kept my Swingline stapler because it didn't bind up as much, and I kept the staples for the Swingline stapler and it's not okay because if they take my stapler then I'll set the building on fire..."

We saw "Walk the Line" last night. I adore Johnny cash's music and was really impressed with the singing in the movie. I think Joaquin Phoenix did Johnny justice. I was surprised at what a wonderful voice Reese Withspoon has too. It was cool seeing the stories behind the songs. watched the deleted scenes and felt many of them really filled in some gaps in the movie.

Oh yeah? I've been wondering how it was. I'm down with some gay cowboys, but all the previews looked bor-ing. Alas, I just cancelled my Netflix...I'd had the same 3 movies sitting around unwatched for weeks so I figured I wasn't into it anymore!
