I watched Beta House last night. That is some funny stuff. This one was about as close to porn as you can get and still not have an X rating at some points. LOL! They are gonna beat that theme into the ground though.

The other night I rented "Snow Walker". WOW. It's about a bush pilot that goes down in the Alaskan tundra. Damn that is a good flick. I will definitely buy it if I ever find it in the store.

i didnt really care for pan's labyrinth. i cant put my finger on why. seemed like it was just trying too hard to be darkly artistic. i wouldve thought it wouldve been right up my alley, but it wasnt

trying too hard to be darkly artistic

That's what it looked like from the previews, hence my hesitation. Thanks crash.

we watched Death Proof the other night and i actually thought it was pretty good. but then again i love me some quentin :)

HOWEVER. we then watched planet terror and i only made it about halfway before i had my head buried in the pillow forcing myself to go to sleep b/c it was so gory. i just dont enjoy all the blood/guts unless the storyline just blows my mind. which it didnt.

just my $.02!

Pan labyrnth was awesome. I saw it twice in the theaters and several times on DVD and pieces of it from time to time now that its on cable.

Hey I rented deathproof christmas eve! It was ok. Being a car buff I thought there could have been a lot more of that in there. The motor head chicks were pretty hot though. Still not sure how I feel about Kurt Russell being the bad guy. Someone else should have played that part. Perhaps the bad guy from the first Highlander. Then again he's probably drawing SS by now. LOL!

You know who should have played Kurt Russels part in that freaking movie?

Rob Zombie! That's what that part needed. A big dark scary dude.

“Not seen Pan's Labyrinth or Beta House.

Pan's Labyrinth is a must see. Just a great story, great direction and the whole feel of the movie was awesome. It kind of brings to mind the original Grim's Fairy Tales and how they were kind of for kids but they had a stark reality to them as well. I was actually pleased to see they didn't dub the DVD in English and kept the subtitles. That also lent to the feel of the movie.

I found the overall story to have a lot of christian metaphors too. Especially the end. Plus I always love a story within a story.

I liked that you could choose whether to believe the fantasy was escape or real. The story supported both.

I am actually man enough to admit that I have cried watching movies before. :)

I hate blatant chick flicks but I love a good story. And action flicks are the worst. Hate 'em.

So far the best DVD I've watched this year is probably The Ultimate Gift.

I, too, enjoyed The Ultimate Gift although I wouldn't go so far as to say it was the best DVD I've seen this year. Too many quaint coincidences to take it to serious.

crash, I had the impression in crash they helped cause the accidents (that they were in), and didn't they use a police scanner to find existing accidents? I won't sit through the movie again to find out for sure though.

We watched "Mr. Woodcock" the other night and thought it was pretty funny. I think it stumbled a little bit towards the end but overall I liked it.

Anyone seen Shoot 'Em Up yet?

any film by Mike Binder
We just watched The Upside of Anger (Joan Allen, Kevin Kostner, Keri Russel) again last night, and I recently enjoyed Reign Over Me (Adam Sandler, Don Cheadle). Both wonderful, excellent films.
Other great DVDs: Freedon Writers (Hillary Swank, Patrick Dempsey, Scott Glen and an amazing cast of kids), and Waitress (Keri Russel in a great film by Adrienne Shelley, who, sadly was murdered last year)

My wife and I are watching the Showtime show called Weeds on dvd. One of the funniest shows I've seen in a long time. It's about a mother from a gated community who's husband dies so she takes to selling weed to pay the bills. there are lots of great characters and funny situations. Here's a clip where young Sean gets a lesson from his Uncle Andy about changes in his body. LOL!

Very Rated R

I agree with Nigal...I watched it Sunday morning and was very disappointed. Before anyone says anything about it just being released today...my daughter works at a video store and she gets to bring them home before they hit the shelves for free and has to pay after the release date.

"Hitman" was better than I expected though!
