Ok, here's the only thread i started this week...
...it's like quitting cigarrettes, people!

Anyway, I will use this thread only for my off the wall stuff, ok? If you feel like hanging your stuff on my wall (or off my wall, as the case may be), then feel free. This thread is for the nut jobs like myself that feel a need to perpetuate this stuff!

Dateline, Lincoln Nebraska. Now, this is a bar with a twist. I could enjoy this prior to walking out of there and viewing 17 million acres of corn...

Bar at Univ. of Nebraska Serves Oxygen

LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) -- There was no chance of students getting drunk by bellying up to a bar on the University of Nebraska-Lincoln campus.

The bar was serving bottled oxygen, not booze.

"I'm not wasted," UNL student Tim Randall, 23, said after inhaling 97-percent pure oxygen for about five minutes. "I'm more relaxed."

Students lined up for the chance to sit at one of three stools at student union Wednesday and inhale the oxygen scented with one of 12 aromas, including lavender, vanilla and strawberry.

"It smelled like incense," Randall said.

As an added option, students could also use earphones that played a monotone sound meant to block outside distractions, or wear sunglasses fitted with tiny lights that blink.

The sounds and lights are designed to help with relaxation, said Broderick Thompson, an employee of TjohnE, the Grand Rapids, Mich., company that was running the bar.

"What you want to do is close your eyes and relax your head," Thompson told the throng of students waiting for their turn.

They've had oxygen bars in Tokyo for decades.

Of course, they need them there.

Really, really bad pollution. I didn't notice it when I was there, but apparently, it can get bad.

Oxygen bars aren't new. Hey - if people will spend several dollars a bottle for water, why not air?

Is this thread only for Treebeard's offbeat stories or can bitpusher, me and others post stories to it?

There are so many rules these days I'm afraid to get banned.

Treebeard - Since you refuse to answer, I'm assuming you don't want other people to post stories on "your" thread.
