Hiking partner or partners
I've just taken a new job In Bishop, Ca. I've done quite a bit of hiking, but I'm looking for hiking partners. If anyone is interested, please post a reply. Thanks

If you are in Bishop, you shouldn't have trouble getting some hiking partners. The Eastern Sierra is a popular place with a lot of us.

If you are new to Bishop, have you hiked out of the Bishop Lakes before? Do you backpack or dayhike or both?

Give some time for others to respond. I don't have any Sierra hikes in my itinerary at the moment.

I'd love to partner up... if only I lived in CA and not PA. DOH!

CA MTN NURSE: You're so lucky to be living in Bishop. I make the trip up 395 to from Redlands, CA (250 miles south of Bishop) quite often to go backpacking. Actually, there are a number of people on this site that spend time in the Eastern Sierra.

Hi there.
I get to Bishop quite often. Not often enough though. One of my friends works in the Bishop hospital, is that where you work "Nurse"?

Oh - It would be GREAT to live in Bishop. And even on a part time basis would work. Just this afternoon that thought came to mind.

But woe, some of us are mere visitors passing through.

There are Eastern Sierra outings coming up from time to time here. Hang around and you might join us on some of these. Even on Winter / snowshoe trips.

The Eastern Sierra rocks. Its time to head north on 395 and check out CA fall colors. Lundy Canyon is great but you'll see several places at least as far north as Bridgeport. You'll see a lot of posts for some eastern sierra hikes. You live in a great area now.

I've backpacked with a couple of the search and rescue people from Bishop, they're very nice people. I'm sure a good place to start to meet people would be to talk to the people at the gear shop on the east side of the main drag, I can't rember the name of it though.
