Planning Trip
I am planning a trip out to LBL for a couple of days in mid October. I was wondering if anyone has had any problems with hunters and if you have any advice. (this will be my first trip.)
Staying in the "nonhunting" areas severly limits where I can go :(

I'm not sure about when Hunting season is there. I don't hunt. Best bet is to call the Golden Pond Visitors Center. They could tell ya more.

The Canal loop is a very nice section to hike. The North half of the North/South Trail is good too. The Southern half is kinda boring unless you like stepping in horse crap.

Have fun & Good Luck!

mbennet. As a hunter I can say that you both deserve to be in the woods. You both just have to respect each other. If you can see a hunter you are to close but, also he or she has to respect that you can be there too.

Bring your own weapon, and shoot the hunters before they shoot you.

Good luck!

hey mbennett...
I live @ 3.5 hours from LBL...If you'd like a partner for the trek, I'd be happy and willing to come up. I've done some of the side trail other than the N/S trail. beautiful place, especially offtrail and into the woods.

This time...
I'm going up with my boyfriend this time and I'm sure nobody wants to join in on the trip o' love, too kinky.

However(!), I think in the future it would be fun to go with a group, it would be a new way to meet people and since I'm getting ready to quit work and go back to school full time I have more time to do things like this.

I have done some of the trails also and it is a great place. BUT, this time of years there are a lot of HUNTERS. Especially since it is bow season I would stay off the trail. If you do go DO wear ORANGE. Binkley grew up in the area and doesn't think it is good idea also.

Okay, thanks for the advice. I'll just pick another place near home to go. Any picks for the Tennessee Area?
