In her latest book she writes, "If husbands are expected to go to work and earn money and visit relatives they don't like, why can't wives put out on demand?"

I already ordered a copy for my wife. This world needs more writers like Dr Laura.

“I dunno if that's out of context, but the illogic is pretty obvious. What guy goes and visits relatives they don't like on demand? What guy lets his wife make all the decisions about his job?

It's as if she never heard of negotiation.”

“I've studied those verses many times over the years and heard lots of interpretations. Bottom line is that it is not what we guys believe they mean, but what our wives think they mean.

Divinity pointed out the other verses...it goes both ways.

Funny story: Went to a wedding for one of my students many years ago. She was "Romanian Baptist" and had a large traditional wedding. One of the ministers spoke and strongly suggested (not demanded) she "submit" to her husband whenever he wanted. We were sitting in the audience with another student who was quite the feminist. When the minister said that she sort of went into meltdown. My wife turned to her and said something like, "...don't worry...we all don't interpret that the same way..." (You had to be there).”

“Yeah, and as soon as the wife comes home from HER job she'll throw the book at him!”
