Bodie, CA Ghost town?

“once you get to Bodie. Mapquest says that CA-270 turns in to Bodie Road (seasonally closed and some portions not paved). So, is the ghost town along CA-270/Bodie Road, or will I need to get a better map to find it?

They have a click able/zoom able Mapquest map as well as links to check road conditions. I was able to go there when I went on the first Lamarama trip. It is worth the drive!”

“The road doesn't actually end in Bodie - you can continue east on to Aurora if you so desire. Expect lots of washboard. I am also partial to the road south out of Bodie to Mono Lake (Cottonwood Canyon?) - it just gives a little different approach to the Lake.

I'm going to Bodie next week. My folks will be in town (Sacto) and Dad is a huge Western history nut, so we are making a trip to the Eastside. Great place.”
