When someone makes a statement that prescribed burns are opposed becuase of pot smokers, the yes, you stupid #&%!$, I am asserting that the person is stating what policy is.

Is that the policy? No, it's not which is the entire thrust of my arguement, most of which clearly went right over your pathetic head.

I don't really care why they like to let their state burn up, but I would just like to say it would be a pretty stupid politician who publicly said pot growers association of california were one of his biggest finacial doners and he wants to protect their rights. Politicians generally side step things like that by picking a more prudent reason to cover their actions

You are making assumptions, bad assumptions, and it's a good example of why you are no longer a lawyer. You need to think logically, which obviously you think with feeeeeelings. (LOL)

good lard.

From my time living in western North Carolina, it's pretty well known that if you go tramping around in the woods you just might stumble upon somebody's farm, which might be set up to hurt you if you get too close.

This is also the case in West TN - I had an uncle who had a portion of one of his corn fields taken over by some growers. The cops approached him to get permission to use his land to stake out the little plot and busted the growers.

Pot farms as the reason CA burns? Hahaha. Oh, that's a good one.

We live in a Mediterranean climate and the central/southern coastal areas in the summer (like Santa Cruz, where the current burn is happening) are dry as hell. Top that off with a lot of rich homeowners who don't want their areas deforrested (ya know, "Healthy Forests" and all that), coastal winds to fan the flames, and you get the perfect prescription for a serious fire.

The woods around here were made to burn.

But the pot farming thing is GREAT for a laugh.

2 injured riding out fire in backyard hot tub

LOS ANGELES — A Los Angeles County Sheriff's official says two people tried to ride out the firestorm in Big Tujunga Canyon in a backyard hot tub and were critically burned.

Sheriff's spokesman Steve Whitmore said Sunday that the pair "completely underestimated the fire" and the hot tub provided "no protection whatsoever."

The two individuals made their way to firefighters Saturday and were airlifted out by a sheriff's rescue helicopter.

Whitmore says the two people received adequate notification to evacuate from deputies but decided to stay.

Big Tujunga Canyon is on the southwestern edge of the fire burning in the mountains north of Los Angeles.

Another person narrowly escaped by driving through flames in a truck and was not injured.
