Let's see now, the Rankers spent all that money for A-Rod and look what it got them: three last place finishes. Nothing like buying last place.

Well, Geo, you have to feel a little compassion for the Rangers. They haven't always had the best management.

Hey they had Bush for a few years! If he couldn't get them to success, who can?

What Red Sox? I'm not a Red Sox fan. I'm not crying. I'm just saying that A-Rod hasn't shown much value for his pay.

Darth Steinbrenner strikes again. But soon, Luke Royalwalker will smash the Death Star when they least expect it.
Yankmee fans keep saying, "But, but, they've lost two world series in a row". Heck, I'd like to be given a chance even to lose one world series now and then. I know, I know, Nigal, just put up the cash, right?

Right! Ya get what ya pay for (this excludes the Red/Mariner's deal that sent Ken Griffy Jr. to Cincinatti to die an early death).

That was the team with Griffey Jr., A-Rod, and Randy Johnson. All three left via free agency or trades, and the next season the Marinades were back in the playoffs with Aaron Boone.

I'm looking forward to watching ESPN's "Pardon the Interuption" and hearing what they have to say about it.

SI.com said it best: The Yankees are no longer a majestic franchise, they're a power hungry corporation.

Yankees are just better at making money and spending it wisely to get the best team on the field....
here is a part of a couple articles I read...

"We don't tell other people how to run their business, they shouldn't tell us how to run ours," said Levine, who then referenced the eight-figure revenue-sharing payment the Yankees made last year and doubtless will again owe at the end of 2004.

"If there are no complaints when people receive that money, there should be no complaints now," Levine said

and now an unbiased article quote from espn...

"We'll help you with the math. Henson's flight: $2.2 million. Soriano's swapped contract: $5.4 million. Boone's violated contract, if voided: $5.75 million.

Rodriguez's 2004 terms: $21 million, of which $3 million is deferred and $4 million is covered by a prorated share of the cash Texas is believed to have included in the transaction.

Suiting up arguably MLB's best all-around player, the reigning AL MVP, for $750,000: Priceless."
