Well? I know that this is a dumb question.

I know a gallon of water weighs 8 lbs. and you get 3.785 liters to a gallon so a liter of water would weigh 2.11 lbs

Yeah but how many pounds in a Kilogram? Damn Metric system! I spent a year in school learning about the metric system it was going to be the next best thing since sliced bread. The next year it was like it never existed!

Actually a gallon of water weighs 8.3 lbs. So, a liter would weigh 2.19 lbs.

But everyone knows, a liter of water in your belly weighs nothing as compared to a liter of water in your pack.

I like to use my own blend of 'Impetric'. Some things are easier in Imperial measure and some are better in Metric

I was listening to the radio in the car last weekend and I have no idea what the station was, but they were giving the current local temperature in Fahrenheit, Celsius and Kelvin.

2.42lbs if it happens to be Heavy Water with the extra neutron in each Hydrogen atom.

Otherwise 2.2lbs, a Quart is 2lbs except in true Imperial measure where a pint is 20oz not the ripoff 16oz as in America. Then a Quart is 2.5lbs.

Let's not confuse the TT loyalists.

a can of beer = 12 ounces.
a six pack has 6 beers.
6 X 12 = 2.13 liters

Actually beer gets heavier after you drink it!

Hence the saying ,Drink a pint=pee a quart! Streamweaver

A gallon of water weights 8.34 lbs. There is 7.4 gallons in a square foot. There are .433 PSI per foot. Water math is the one thing that I know. Thats what happens when you work at a water plant for 6 years

No, he meant square foot,,,,he worked in a waste water plant.

Seeing #&%!$ a mile wide and an inch deep sort of skewed his perception somewhat.

A square foot would only hold what water might cling from surface tension. Very little.

Because water has a density of 1.0, one liter of water weighs 1,000 grams = 1 kilogram.

"A pint is a pound, the world around." A liter is just over two pints, so it weighs just over two pounds...witch is the 2.2 lbs mentioned a few posts back.

Phil, a pint is NOT a pound the World around.

A pint is 20oz in England, Scotland, Wales, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand,

A Pint is the primary measure for Beer in the UK. Dont go devaluing the beer measure.

the 1 liter = 1 kilo is not an accident but deliberately designed into the metric system as a basic definition....

Where's the pint of pint of pickled peppers, Peter Piper picked?

I am not a pheasant plucker

10oz of Bass and 10oz of Guinness to make a REAL pint.

Unless you are a woman, then you have the option of 1/2 pint.

Ever wonder where the expression 1/2 pint came from ? a male who could not handle a whole pint.
