I'm having trouble with the trailtalk part of the board. I can hit all the other areas fine, but trailtalk is very very slow in responding. Any changes lately?

I've noticed a number of othe people have been hitting the submit message button several times, which might be an indication of slower response... Thanks!

I know there are some problems. My server is trying to die one me. I already have a new server, I just don't have everything installed on it and ready to go. Hopefully very soon these problems will go away.

I'm not a gurur by any means, but I am an educated user. I might be able to ask around here at work. What's the problem?

Date Range
Hey, Matt

I double checked my options and have the date range set for 1 day. When I log in it reverts to 3 days. Sometimes it will revert to 3 days when I switch from string to string.

Here are a few things to check. The date option is remembered through your cookies. Make sure those settings are correct. Also check the date on your computer. If the year is incorrect, that can cause problems.

Also try to log out using the "log out" link. Then re-login. This should forces your options to be reloaded.

should clicking on the most recent poster box take you to that person's post...or just the thread....i'd like the first option best, but only gett the top of the thread

It seems to take you to that persons post if it's on the first page, but not if it's on a second or third page.

Thanks for nudge. And if we get some press out of this, just think of how many new people will get branded as trolls when they post for the first time ;)

When you have no marketing budget, it is always nice to have people who support you by word-of-mouth type things. Thanks.

What's a budget. My wife has been throwing that word around lately

all that means to me is that there isn't any money out there for me to buy any gear

What's up with this?

Warning: mysql_data_seek(): Offset 50 is invalid for MySQL result index 4 (or the query data is unbuffered) in /var/www/thebackpacker.com/htdocs/trailtalk/thread.php on line 86

Also, the pages don't refresh. I have never had this problem before.

That's the error you get when you go to a second page after the date range has changed the number of posts on the thread to less than fifty while you going to the second page.

Matt was making some changes yesterday and it seemed to affect how pages were cached. If you refresh the page, everything should be okay.

Thanks for the "ignore feature."
Thanks, Matt. I saw one string disappear this morning. I don't know what was said, because all of it was blocked by the ignore feature. I'm sure that I did not missed anything worthwhile.
